On supermodel Naomi Campbell’s Oxygen reality show, “The Face,” model Devyn was asked if she identified as a “Black” model in an interview with talk show host Wendy Williams. After model answered the question, Campbell could be heard giving her opinion in the background.

Williams: “Is it hard to be a Black girl model?”

Devyn: “I don’t really consider myself to be a Black girl model. I mean, I know what my ethnicity is, but I’m fair-skinned and I feel like I have an international look.”

Campbell (in the wings): “What the f*** does she mean? That’s a disgrace! She’s a Black girl.”

What Devyn wanted to say but she neva said is de industry perceive her as marketable cause she light skinned.

Devyn is 100% black and knows herself but also knows she has chameleon (facial angles) looks cause she can play de camera.. like her mother, like her grandmother.

Devyn went on to win the competition and was featured as 'The Face' of Ulta cosmetics. This has opened the door for her and she has had many modeling assignments as a result. No covers yet, but I guess in due time

I saw it a long time ago and I have avoided posting about that as she is related to one of the admins here....a close relative. I think it is not in good taste to pursue this given the connection.
