Ban on all jet ski activities in Negril following fatal crash

The Maritime Authority of Jamaica has imposed a temporary ban on all jet ski activities in Negirl, Westmoreland.
This is to facilitate its investigation into the death of an American tourist following a jet ski crash in the area. The ban also comes as tourism interests voice concern about the dangers posed by watercraft.
Director General of the Maritime Authority, Rear Admiral Peter Brady states that the agency is usig its powers under the Shipping Act.
Fifty three year old Tomas Torres of Las Vegas died on Tuesday after being hit by a jet ski while swimming at a beach at a resort in Negril.
