The cool down from Jah was much needed, however my head did not get the memo, and my migraine persisted


Imanni played with some kids from the camp nextdoor, and I sat in the shade and listenend to the Valley Stage. Daddy went into the venue to check out the vibe.





There were people of all ages and all colors. Even the clouds were interracial blu I actually thought of you when I took this pic

Seveen, you of all people would love this kind of thing The people and the vibe... it's just very cool.

There were bathrooms all over the venue... especially closer to the family camp area. There were also plenty of Sani-Hut's

This is no campground. There were no fire pits or grills... there were some water spigots here and there. Mainly just open dry grass fields...

We brought our own breakfast, pancakes, eggs, milk, juice, coffee I have a Coleman stove and I know how to use it

For dinner we had food from the vendors... they had everything you could imagine. I went for Jerk Chicken he had Curry Goat

The food was excelent

I blew up the air mattress and made the bed while Imanni played with the other kids.
The reggae music was a wonderful backdrop to the camp site, and people everywhere were smiling.
I was tired that night and decided I would check out the venue in the morning. We crawled into bed, and I realized I had left Imanni's bedtime stories at home

That boy will find a book he likes and make me read that same book for MONTHS
This month is is Franklin is Lost (we still have not read all those books btw. thank you, you know who you are )

Anyway, I know the book by heart already so I start the story. Imanni's eyes get really big, and he says all surprised, a story?? but where is the book?? I say right here and I point to my head. I recite the story, and he chimes in where he knows the parts. It was fun, and then we said our prayers.
It is almost completely dark now and the music is going strong. Luckily Imanni and I can sleep through anything...

The next thing I know a little boy whom I had pictured earlier that day sticks his head in our tent
I look up, and he says &quot;momma?&quot;
I say &quot;no baby&quot;
The boy backs out of the tent like lightning and I hear him say &quot;Momma&quot; again, this time on the brink of tears
I jump up and yell &quot;wait baby, I know where she is, I am coming&quot;
I take his hand and lead him to the camp I saw him at earlier... there is a Lady running around the side of the camp just as I approach screaming his name
&quot;Oh thank God&quot; she says when she sees us
I tell her what happened and she thanks me again. She says his Mother is off looking on the other side of the Family Camp Area...
We say our goodbyes, and I give the boy a big smile and say stay by your Momma.

I am glad I took such notice of him earlier so I knew where to return him... lawd he sure is cute

Sometime in the night I heard the rain on the tent...

We were dry, and warm, and getting some much needed rest.


Imanni always asks me if the sun is coming up or going down, and he gets very happy when I say the sun is going up. Something to do with bedtime I think


Anyway, the next morning I woke up and turned over, which woke him up next to me. He opened his eyes and saw the sun shining on the tent, and there was no question in his little mind

Momma, the sun is coming up!!

Momma is it special music day, with games and kids?

Yes it is baby!!

I get up and put on some coffee, the sky is beautiful blue with white puffy clouds. I cook us pancakes and eggs we have some orange juice and get ready to go in the venue


Within the first 15 minutes I find something I can't live with out

Seriously tho, look at this shirt...




The Mother baby and Father lion... the signifigance was not lost on me... he wore it all day and stole plenty hearts...




Imanni's dad went his own way, and Imanni and I spent the day together... mostly in the kids area, he loved the jump house and would not come out when I called him

He tried the slip and slide, but did not have the slide concept down real good

We got ice cream cones and went to the smaller village stage to watch Asheba, who performs childrens songs... Imanni loved that... songs about ice cream and spiders, sing along songs that were lots of fun...

I beat the heat by keeping my sarong wet and draping it over our heads... with the slightest breeze it cooled us down, and we played games hiding under the sarong





Yeah, life is all about Imanni

When I finally took the time to look at the performance schedule I realized I just missed Yami Bolo

I was bummed, but would not take that day back for anything...

We headed for the main stage, and up in the bleachers... I guess we looked cute having all that fun... 4 seperate strangers asked if they could take a picture of us

One offered to take a pic with my camera too...




Sister Carol was on stage, and I got my first shots of an actual <span style="font-style: italic">performer</span> at this MUSIC FESTIVAL

I had told Imanni's Dad when we split up earlier that I was off duty at 8:00pm

We headed back to camp after Sister Carol, and Imanni played with the other kids... He had the best day, and I really enjoyed the music and watching him have fun...

Of all the pictures I took of Imanni that day, these are my favorite...
