You're right Zed. Amazon could either design a horizontal light fixture that attaches across the top - that would be more sleek and stylish - or build-in back lighting that you can turn on and off. Built-in light might affect the life of the screen though.

As yuh talk bout built in light - mi get de Ipod touch for xmas - and you know u can read yuh kindle book dem pon it - anywhere u reach inna de book it automatically sync up wid de ipod an find de page - it's one of the most wonderful things EVER!

But what I was saying is that the Touch has a built in backlight and it does make the reading much easier than mucking around with a book light. mi go troo several booklights since I got the Kindle and I am always dissatisfied... eeda dem mekd e page glare, or dem hit de pge at the wrong angle or dem clip wrang or supm - so mi fine de baklight ting pon de touch very convenient... great for on the go...

Now I can access my books even if all mi ah carry is jus mi wallet or a clutch - it's a truly beautiful thing!

not sure.. but I do see its replacement as a textbook replacer

I dunno. I am definitely not interested in it..not a big fan or follower of the iStuff..

My coworker ordered the B&amp;N Nook, so we will be having a 'book off' to see whose e-reader is better
