i don't think kindle is epub compatible . . .

the nook is and that's why they have more books available than kindle

ipad only had 4076 books available

ipad supports kindle (via an app).

Yes it worked for me and at first it tells you there may be some extra charge to download for some reason I don't remember now but I downloaded a 99cent book and there was no extra charge.

The extra charge relates to data or air time.

I would not want to pay $600 so I can read e-pub books as well


Seveen you know there is an app to read epub so you may not have buy a Nook for Abu since he already has itouch/iphone thingy no?

one review i read said for just reading books the 3G was overkill

now to endure the wait while amazon restocks (although i hear staples and one other places is going to sell them)

i started looking at covers - those things aren't cheap either - of course i want one with a light

nook covers are more varied . . .

my co-worker has an ipad and it's not all that

it truly looks like a big iphone without being able to use it for a phone (and it doesn't have a microphone or cam so skype is out) but i guess you can get an app for that

i'll wait a couple of generations before i get one

and the iphone 4 may have it's kinks worked out by the time my ATT contract is up for renewal (although the website said i could upgrade now)

Yes I know what you mean. My cover arrived but the item it covers does not even have a ship date

okay my kindle arrived

first impressions:

dang i wish the screen was brighter
i keep touching the screen expecting the pages to turn
wow - i have to push the turn button page awfully hard
where's the color

my coworker loaded kindle on to his iPad
he was backlight and could change the page colors from black and white to sepia ...
he had color
he was just turning the pages with a whish of his finger
kindle app was free

gonna give it a minute and see how this all works out

i guess the kindle is half the size of an ipad - might not want to hold an ipad all day reading on the beach

but hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
