Oh dear...glad this was a false alarm but you know it's just a matter of time. Can you tell how old the dog is? I hope you can get Mr. JD to come around and then the neighbor. The situation is totally out of control and though I feel bad anytime I hear of tragic endings happening to animals because of neglect, at this point it would be double sad because you have an emotional investment now.

There will be a war if the lady does not come for her today. We are going out tonight and I only have one crate.I donated the old crate I had (it was huge) to a rescue group. Barney has to go in it (he tears up the blinds if any one is around front (these villas are attached so the drive ways are close). he would also like to eat Luigi (the bird).

Looks like I need an extra crate for emergencies

You could try putting the two of them together in the crate? Does Barney like her? Try it while you are home and see if it works.

He likes her. But the crate is not that big.

I actually threw out an old beat up one and gave another to a rescue group. She is not house broken at all. I have a gate (i could gate her in the kitchen) but, she may tear the place up.

I would never allow strangers to mind my dog. What feck is wrong with people????

If I had an extra crate I could work on her house breaking. Funding is poor right now or I would go buy one at Walmart.

I went by Maria's yard twice. no one was home. I went to Walmart and got a plastic crate for $40.

Mr JD is vexed.

How much time would you give this idiot before you started calling rescues?

The owner showed up to get her at 8:15. She claims that she got a leash and collar, and tie out / run thing.

If she's out running around again a kid my son knows said he will take her home (said his parents will let him keep her.


The thing that gets me is she is a really nice dog.

MR JD did not want to keep her because we really can't afford to keep 2 properly ( good food, flea &amp; heart worm prevention, shots, vet when sick etc) he is right. We spent a lot when Barney was having some issues (skin problems, yeast in ears, bloody stool etc) We went on bad run for a while there.
