If she comes here and I am home I will keep letting her in. What else can I do? If I find her out a road and Mr. JD is not home I will bring her home and say that she showed up the door.

I hate to lie but her life is at stake here.

Oh jeeze. I would bring her to the shelter if mr. JD won't let you keep her. To me, it seems an only other option.

I'm afraid that she will be put down.

I have not seen her so far today.

Maria update

I saw her owner this morning on my way to the gym.

She said she has a &quot;runner&quot; (i guess it's some kind of tie out) in the yard now which she is thinking about cementing. She said she will not leave her in the yard when she goes out.

Like I told the owner, I'll miss her but am happy if she is safe.

A woman brought Maria to my house about an hour ago. She was a few streets away. A kid showed her where the owner lives but no one was home. So they brought her here.

She is wearing a collar now.

The lady said she found 2 Pit puppies this morning too

so sad that this has to keep happening.
Pit puppies won't have a chance either. I've got so many rescues posting to me on facebook, I can't look at the dogs that are doomed anymore..so so many dogs are just thrown away...its heartbreaking.....................

It is too sad. Maria needs to be spayed before she adds to the population.

I have been wanting to adopt a female Pit mix pup from the pound (sadly they almost always have them) But, the time has not been right.

But now I keep hoping that the owner will stop coming to claim Maria. Mr. JD would not call animal control. He'd end up letting her stay.

The woman who brought Maria here (God bless her ) is trying to find out who owns the puppies (she is not in a hurry to call animal control).I begged her to try some rescues if she does not find the owner. But, you are right they are all over whelmed.

She said she was asking kids. That was how she knew to bring Maria to me. She said Maria ran up to her and started kissing her. I'm guessing she was left tied in the yard again. She goes looking for some one to play with.

Barney is only in the yard if some one is home.


Meanwhile the boy next door licked over his water dish. The water is off (they are digging out front / broken pipe) It looks like he chewed his pool so it was dry. I just threw some ice cubes in the pool anyway.

So why do some people get dogs?

The owner showed up with a leash in her hand about 5 minutes ago. She said something like she would have come this morning but it looked like no one was up when she left for work. So, I told her we did not have her all night. A woman brought her to us around 11 am. She said that she does not know where she was all night.

She said her boyfriend let her out last night and didn't tie her.(i'm thinking the boyfriend does not want the dog so he lets her out ) I told her she is very lucky nothing bad has happened to the dog. She said she's going to get a tag made with her name &amp; contact info. Then she gave me her phone number just in case Maria winds up here again. :

So, my options are to keep returning her to this woman (who seems kind of slow) or call animal control?

Why do people get dogs?

Good question....especially the ones that don't take care of them and ARE NOT responsible enough to own one.....there oughtaa be a law

I have to confess, I was sitting here fretting about Maria (half hoping that she shows up here)

Jr came in. I asked Jr. if he has seen her today. He said he saw the lady walking her on a leash . Perhaps light has dawned on marble head

Just shoot me

I'm sitting under the dryer at the hairdresser. Mr. JD calls. He says guess who I just saw running up the road? Maria.

I beg him go catch her and put her in the crate in the house. He said she was following some people but he'll have Jr. go get her.

Jr and his friend found her and brought her here.

He calls me back about 15 minutes later and said &quot;ole idiot just came looking for her with a leash&quot;. She said she was fishing out back and the puppy was swimming (in the canal ) and then she took off. (so obviously she was not leashed) at least it was not hours before she came looking this time.

I wish this person would just stop coming to claim her

Jr. told me last night that &quot;ole idiot&quot; came here looking for Maria while I was at work yesterday.

She is not here. We have not seen her.

I looked on animal controls intake list. She is not there.

I'll have to have Jr. ask the woman if she found her. (i want to choke her)

I am hoping against hope that some one who will take care of her found her and took her home

ETA the kids that used to bring her here when they saw her running around have moved. She usually follows kids.

poor maria i do hope smaddy nice find har and tek har in. di owner nuh have nuh business a harbor dawg weh she cyaan look afta.

a suh mi find mi puss too. she come up to mi a bawl wid har big blue eyes. just begging mi fi tek har and i cudden resist. mi had di vets check if she was reported lost and when dem seh nope, mi get her shots and ting and tek har home.

she spoon wid mi all night dat night and been wid mi fi 7 years now.

some animals just know dat di yawd dem deh is not right fi dem.
