Aw Ceabee Walter is fine! he is happily running about the yard, same as Tango did at 1 year old, so I am not worried about him. I see him out there hanging out in the sun, and hunting in the yard and his dish is always full and he comes in to eat and sleep so he has it made in the shade. I miss him sitting in my lap, but I do think he will be back in more often as it gets cold out like Tango did. He is sizing up the situation from inside the cat door though, I can see him there watching. When it gets cold out and he wants to come in, he will have the situation under control!

My take on Walter from the beginning is this:

Since he was abandoned on a dark busy highway in the middle of nowhere
at a driveway to a lone house far from any other houses, I always figured some kid dragged him home from someone's farm, as there are many farms around these parts, and the parent(s) got rid of &quot;it&quot; the worst way in the middle of the night. It was 10pm when the crying scared baby wandered up to a friends porch. There are pretty much no other scenario's that fit at barely 5 weeks old except the owner of the mother dumping a litter here and there but I kind of doubt that. His behavior sure looks like barn cat now that he is grown. It is funny to watch him out in the yard as I mow and things, he is a great hunter! I do think he will come back in for some coddling once it gets cold out, he already is in a lot more than he was just a week ago. Hey, if he kills the mice around the house he will be my hero Kitteh!

So yes, MGee I see tiger striping in his tail, and he also has the slant eye thing going so there is probably Siamese in the mix somewhere. That is easy to explain as well, to add to the cycle of abandoned animals.

How sad is it, that someone likely needed to get rid of a Siamese/(mix) cat and dumped it off at a farm somewhere in the middle of nowhere, and this is the viscous cycle that continues. Lots of animals are abandoned at farms in the middle of the night. Not just dogs and cats either, but even horses! Yep, a friend came home one night at midnight to a horse tied in her yard! More than once.

Oh, while I was typing this, Walter came in and is on the washer/dryer eating. I feed the cats up there so the dish is always full and the dogs can't get it!

And...if only I had a video camera! Not much is funnier than Helga right now. I taught her SIT a couple of weeks ago. Tonight we started on DOWN. I only showed her 2-3 times and now she comes and sits next to me and throws herself down on the ground waiting for a &quot;cookie&quot;! It is hysterical!

Ha, this is funny, but not even the dogs go out this cat door! Nothing has ever come in but the cats, thank God. The door doesn't go directly outside to the yard, but to a crawl space. I don't know what I would do without it but go through a lot of cat litter! Walter had a cat box for about a month till Tango showed him the &quot;ropes&quot;.

Good morning Seveen, SandiF, and all. Seveen, if I had known Walter was going to pose on the metal couch for me like that, I would have washed the grass from weed whacking off first. Walter is coming in for the night earlier now. he stays on the washer/dryer in the hallway till we go to the bedroom, then he comes and sleeps on the couch. I am working hard to keep Paris away from the cat door &amp; when Helga does see him, she really doesn't pay attention as she loves Tango and was raised around cats so she is a cat friendly puppy, whew!

Yesterday I took Helga for another solo road trip. I wanted her to experience the ferry while she is young so off we went. This period from 5 or so weeks to 4 months is very critical in the brain development department, so I have been extra busy for this past month since she came. I have pretty much dropped most other things in the name of puppy development, but it will be so worth it in the end. We have been doing as many new things as possible. which will make her new experiences as an adult easier to adapt to. I call it &quot;bomb proofing&quot;.

Since it can be quite cool on the ferry this time of year, I figured it was time to get Helga used to wearing a jacket or sweatshirt, in this case. Paris did not come with us but I put her sweatshirt on, and Helga's, and took them both for a run so they could get used to them. They acted like they didn't even notice them at all, so that was good. They look so cute in their matching outfits!



Is this baby having fun or what? I never tire of the &quot;look&quot; in her eyes. Always sharp, intent..



Phone pic of Helga getting familiar with the feel of the ferry deck. With the motor running the vibration was a little scary at first. I am so glad I made this trip yesterday, instead of waiting until Spring to make her first trip. You can see she is a little scared. We had time to walk on and off the ferry several times before the actual boarding.





here, Helga is in the ferry lounge, sitting on a bench and watching the cars load. Once the cars were loaded and it was safe, we made the trip on the deck. I lifted her to the railing so she could look down and see the water and she thought that was pretty fun, I think.



On Wednesday Helga will be 4 months old already! She is doing *sit's and downs so cute, and this week we will probably start with heel on lead. She is getting to big to be wandering all over but I wanted to wait until 4 months old before I start the more intense training.

* sit's and downs: I am training her to sit on command, and/or lay down. I am training her these things with hand signals so eventually I won't have to say a word, just use signals. We practiced it on the ferry and Helga was not comfortable with laying down on the vibrating floor but she did it anyway. More bomb proofing.

French Tickla, yes those eyes..you can just see how intelligent Helga is by looking into those intense eyes. She doesn't miss a thing.

Last week Paris got a big haircut for Winter. It was needed as the girls have started wrestling and I foresee them rolling in wet snow and I am trying to divert disaster in the hair dept. Paris also had to have her ear length shortened, as some of the hair was broken off from rough play. I don't even wanna mention that even a little hair is missing on Paris's head top, but it is. The alternative is stop letting them roughhouse, but I am not about to do that, they are having mountains of FUN!

Paris never got to play like this, as she was in show coat until she was 2 1/2 and they only get to play with humans in all that hair, lest some of it break off. Poor Paris, but she is having a second puppy-hood now. Paris never liked stuff toys much, but since Helga is a wild squeaky squeaker Paris has decided to join in. Paris likes to use the stuffed toys as a pillow.

Helga is growing like a WEED! This is her yesterday..

Well, losing Rose turned out to be a catalyst for a new business adventure. I am excited to be going public with it next week, and see what happens. I expect to be very busy if the responses so far are any indication, which is great. My target market is not online anymore. It is time to turn to local opportunities, though I will have online samples &amp; accept online orders as well.

Remembrance Rose

I have my work cut out for me as I also need to hurry get some more beads and stuff loaded on the rest of my website, which has been sitting dormant for a couple of years while my family slipped away before my eyes.

I am now ready to ROCK &amp; Roll this thing...

Marnin Ceabee! All the dogs are getting along well together &amp; I don't sense any jealousy between the little ones and the two bigger ones. Paris has a favorite Pin, I will have to get a pic of the two of them together cause they are so funny! Helga seems to have a few favorite Pins, she is gaining the trust of them all little by little but we have two sleep in the bed with Paris and Helga. (I should keep warm this winter, lol)

I can have everyone out together at once and it is pretty fun. Helga seems to be &quot;the more the merrier&quot; type, while I am sure if I asked the Pins they would rather their quiet days return sooner rather than later!

Thankfully, Helga picked up right away that 16 1/2 year old rickety Ziggy needs to be treated carefully. Helga often snuggles in the dog bed with him..crappy phone pic but it shows
