i walked out this morning and yep that patch of grass needs to come out - filled with more stuff, tropicals and flowers

the tree needs to move further from the house - it's just too close - i can't wait to see how that works out with her - i left her a message yesterday - no return call [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/helpsmilie.gif[/img]

it's a good start - at least it's opened up enough for me to add things as i go along

and no i did not talk to my neighbor or the homeowners association

what is that old saying - it's better to ask for forgiveness than to ask permission? the committee would have reviewed my plans and the work would not be done

really the only thing i did was "shift" a tree [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif[/img]

I feel for you on the tree thing. The look is sure a good start minus that little oops. I can't wait till spring! I can see us on cold winter days thinking tropical thoughts and picking out plants for your yard!

supposedly the tree will be moved tomorrow

told the guy i would be here

didn't want any - honey move the couch here - move the couch there stuff

did NOT roll my neck

so project plan for tomorrow:

see if he really comes at 7:30AM [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img]
show him where i want the tree - which involves more digging out
gonna take that phallic triangle of grass away - swag mi baybee
make the beds at the house deeper and wider

and then i'm gonna listen to loops, roots, nanook, GB, et all [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/notworthy.gif[/img] and do it up

and then when it's nice

instead of mulch

lava rocks - the big thing here [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif[/img]

so now i know she - the landscaper has the dream
and he says "you want me to do what?"

No, those are slow growing palms. I forget what they are called, I have one. The paperwork it came with said 'slow grower'.

Seveen, when the tree blooms, try to get rid of the 'nuts' quickly. They will be a pain to get out of the gutter.

it has been raining here horribly - we're experiencing a nor'easter so no work has been done in my yard

the landscape folks called and tomorrow is supposed to be the day to move the tree and rip out the rest of that bed as loops, GB and Nanook suggested [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70409-waytogo.gif[/img]

my sod looks good - it has come in nicely

more pictures soon come

after the tree move - i'm going to go on an independent plant buying spree and add some stuff on my own

then the front of the house will get repainted - kinda "Potemkin" affect [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img] yep i convinced the painter to do that

I am so glad your sod is taking nicely. Big hurdle! I agree you should do an independent buying/planting spree!! Any good nursery will help. Bring your Digi camera, with photos of the areas, preferrably at like 9 and 3....light conditions key.
