On Friday morning when I left for work this is how our kitchen looked. I was really excited b/c today was the day it was going to be painted!







Then I came home from work, marched right into the kitchen, and almost fainted. While I was at work, the sun took time out of his/her day to, sorry to be so crass, take a dump on my walls.

This is not what we picked out! This is baby poop mixed with Mustard seed, it's McDonald's gold, it's old woman 70's marigold, it's... it's... it's... awful! This looks nothing like the sample! and why is it so glossy?!? Oh no! Oh no! This has to go!









So Red is painting again this weekend while I lay in bed and fight a fever (and post on the BB). I'll post an update later. (((Red)))

Not sure anyone is still looking at this thread. I wanted to update the photos in case anyone was.

So we, and by we I mean Red, re-painted the kitchen a very pale yellow color last weekend. At first we hated the re-painted color and thought about changing it and moving towards a more tan/khaki color.


Original Green color, the gold color we picked the first time, and the current light yellow color all on one wall:



Then the cabinets started going in and the wall color started changing into something we liked.

Allow me to introduce you to the worlds best carpenter. Although he has been doing this sort of work for over 15 years he is just starting to build a business out of it and, as such, his prices are super reasonable. He is an excellent craftsman with such attention to detail it blows my mind. He shows up early, works all day, and does impecable work. It is amazing what he has been able to do over the last week and a half.

Still waiting for the molding to go up on this wall and the electrician to come back and finish with the appliance hook up.

I can't wait to remove the protective covers from the stainless appliances. That's how I'll know the job is complete!

Granite comes this week on Friday! I can't wait to get it all done so I can stop eating ham and cheese! Oh, and I will get my living room back too!

Thanks Q.K. Red is working so hard and I am so pleased with his vision. It is so nice to see it all come together.

Yeah, Steve is incredible. I mean seriously. He is such a joy to work with. He is honest and takes pride in the work he does. I trust his judgement fully. Right now he is splitting his time between his home in Kentucky and building a business here. I think he would eventually like to have enough business to move here permanently.

Thanks Pepper and Nunya. Yep, I am much better now. I think all of the dust being kicked up in the house had been causing me some problems but now that all of the drywall work is done it has been getting better.

I am so excited for the end of the week! All Red and I can talk about is what our first meal in the new kitchen will be.

Kia I am so happy right now. The plumber is here and while it won't all be completed today it should be by early next week.

The fridge is counter depth. I hope the plumber at least gets the water line to the fridge hooked up tonight so I can make ice over the weekend for margaritas!

Boundie the kitchen is coming together nice man. your kitchen colors (in cabinetry, counters [almost] and appliances) are just like mine. the quary (sp?) near me was going out of business, so the we got a steal.
