Thanks, Nylah. The gap year was not an easy decision - her father was not for it because of course he's worried about her not going back to university. she herself was worried about disappointing us, but she really really wanted a break from school. so we talked about it and i suggested that she use the gap year to do something that will help her in her future. We settled on the katimavik program as something that will take her outside of her safety zone and help her discover her strengths and equip her for dealing challenges in life.

lord i love her so. pickneys can be a struggle but it is so rewarding to a parent to see them develop hopes and ambitions and grow into their potential.

yup, i can totally understand the fear you two had of her possibily not returning to school. My parents were no different on the subject too.

but I agree with you that her gap year must be about something that keeps her on track with her future plans. That helps keep the focus on her long-term educational goals plus it allows her to have a break (especially if she was a hard worker in High School) and get a different prespective on the world before returning to school.

You are obviously so proud of her which is beautiful to see. I wish her all the best in the future. I am sure she will continue to make you and her dad very proud.

Lol! yes, I remember. My daughter has very strong ideas though, and belief in God is not really one of them, so if (((A))) is still interested, sure, we can set something up. We should get together anyway. We may do a Buckhorn run before the end of July, I'll let you know.
