i suspect this is the case.. anyway email sent to principal and lunch manager along with your websites (so dem can catch up wid de times). Some kids had the state standardized tests today-imagine if someone in one of the grades where they were taking the tests did not get lunch

so my dear forgetful boyKia forgot to inform his parents that his balance was low and was denied lunch today.

In the past they have allowed him to 'owe' the money.

He says the cafeteria lady told him it is a new policy (which I have not seen and I have looked all over the website).

Granted it will help him to remember to let us know when he needs lunch money but on the other hand what if he had an issue where he became dizzy because he did not have lunch?

Would you call the school lunch manager to discuss?

Ha! He almost did last night. I had to remind him that he was supposed to remind me to give him a check for lunch.


The district lunch manager called and said yes it was a new school policy because some kids owe a lot and it was close to the end of the school year. She also stated boyKia could have gone into the office and asked for an exception (as if he would have known to do that and I mentioned miss cafeteria lady did not offer it to him ). I also suggested that they get with the 21st century in lunch communication cause mi calling the school to get al ist of what my kids ate and how much is its balance doan cut it for me Links set and all will be good ... i guess

as far as relying on pickney to remind us when things due etc. no baddah wid dat, mine is just 9 and mi nuh rely pan har cause some days she not even membah how fi spell har miggle name.


one of my biggest pet peeve is to have pickney hungry at school unnu membah how the likkle fuss grader did a teef likkelgen lunch

kia like yuh did mi wouldan did send one letter to the principal, guidance smaddy and mek dem know in no terms that it is NOT okay fi have pickney guh widout lunch dem brite, and dat parents nuh have time fi a mentally calculate if balance low, dem need an auto pay sitten.


at our school dem usually have one basket or suh wid milk, juice and so on if pickney still thirsty dem can tek from it. a think same wid food too.

IMHO it seems if a kid doesn't have lunch money - some investigation should take place - perhaps the parents are out of work or some other issue at home

i think the school could still be charged with abuse - i bet i would be called on the carpet if i didn't feed my child

at this school I had forgotten the lunchbox one day and the school called to ask if it was okay that she &quot;eat&quot; the school lunch.

I was thinking &quot;how nice&quot;

but then mi realize seh dem probably also a check fi see if she allergic to any food too


skells maybe a only up this way dem have the free basket thingy, although with the nation wide attitude towards making sure that every child has breakfast and lunch, mi wonder why dem nevah have it a boykia school ? unless is only up to 6th grade dem do it ?
