Our school has a system set up where parents can send in a check and the middle school kids can buy what they want for lunch. It is stored with the child's account.

so my dear forgetful boyKia forgot to inform his parents that his balance was low and was denied lunch today.

In the past they have allowed him to 'owe' the money.

He says the cafeteria lady told him it is a new policy (which I have not seen and I have looked all over the website).

Granted it will help him to remember to let us know when he needs lunch money but on the other hand what if he had an issue where he became dizzy because he did not have lunch?

Would you call the school lunch manager to discuss?

Ha! He almost did last night. I had to remind him that he was supposed to remind me to give him a check for lunch.


The district lunch manager called and said yes it was a new school policy because some kids owe a lot and it was close to the end of the school year. She also stated boyKia could have gone into the office and asked for an exception (as if he would have known to do that and I mentioned miss cafeteria lady did not offer it to him ). I also suggested that they get with the 21st century in lunch communication cause mi calling the school to get al ist of what my kids ate and how much is its balance doan cut it for me Links set and all will be good ... i guess

IMHO it seems if a kid doesn't have lunch money - some investigation should take place - perhaps the parents are out of work or some other issue at home

i think the school could still be charged with abuse - i bet i would be called on the carpet if i didn't feed my child

that is what I told her or just send the kids to the office to get something to eat.

anyways mi did follow up mi phone call with an email to the school district lunch lady, principal and vice principal.

it seems this policy just went into effect after spring break so mi seh , dem betta have software up in running in septemba

oh and yes I did tell the other parents of the middle school so they can all write letters about this policy.

dat is nat gender specific so yes you going to have to do the post shower sniff and make sure deodorant get put on
