seveen is right, i think. i wouldnt have actually minded us all living together under one roof and babies being born here and ting. but for my dawta's own growth, i think they do need their own space to develop as a married couple. </div></div>

dont cry hon, nutin wrong if granbabies daughter and son-in-law live with yu, both of my cultures Swedish and jamaican coexist like this. One big happy family and I hear you bout your dawtas growth. If my granmere was still alive I would still be living with her, even though we used to fight all the time. but you get older you get wiser am sure we would have put all that behind us.

McGee - what you are feeling is perfectly normal...

If you felt happy within yourself about the choice of partner and where she was in life - you would have no problems letting go...

The truth is you feel that by having them at the house you can still influence some of the decisions that they will make and perhaps prevent further life altering choices, and still have access to your daughter who is still your little girl - no matter how grown she thinks she is.

Do what you have to yaah - when the time comes that you are forced to make the decision you will deal with it then.

finally had a sit down with him mum lass week. she's working two jobs!!!! she tell mi some time she so tired she no know what fi do wid harself.

nice woman. have her own and two younger kids immigration issues fi hangle, so got the impression she's glad i'm supporting big son's marriage to my dawta, caw that would be one less thing for her to worry about. she and the two younger ones move up here since year from JA to live with the mother's mother. The two younger ones are smart and are doing well in school.

they seem like decent ppl. maybe caw dem SDA... i was comforted that the mother valued education, and says she talked to her big son about supporting my dawta. actually had a moment of jealousy when she said she sat the two of them down and talked to them about marriage. she did this while i was here wishing for it all to go away.

one day will meet the mother's mother, i guess.

so date set. cyaan tell when yet, caw some family *coughdaddycough* need to be officially informed by dawta. mi a hassle har fi tell im soon, caw mi waan have the follow-up conversation about paying for the wedding.

so mi dehya a try figga out where to start with this whole wedding planning ting. an mi no ha no more vacation days left. when mi spen up mi money and vacation time january gone, giving meself an advanced birthday present, had no clue that at the end of they year i'd be scrounging for time and dollars fi gi dawta weddn.

lawd, jazz, me'da hug u if u neva call me mcgee.

this is a big part of why i offered to have them live with me. of course, now that me seet so plain and straight, i realize the delusion i'm living under. i have to think about where to take it from here.

They, SDA's are very strict folks and follow the letter to a T...methinks your daughter would haff to go to church with them on Saturdays religiously...'ope she is ready for the commitment...not too late for her to rethink...but mi happy still how tings going...mi haff a feeling that you will come out of this feeling happier....

edited to say, for one set of mi first cousins grew up as SDA's [mi can hear mi Modda now, saying how dem did strict.. ...plus mi wurk with some of dem...Laawd, dem strick.
