Well, MsKimmy has her surgery on Tuesday. I am on pins and needles. The disclaimer nearly scare you to death. I know it's necessary, but I almost changed my mind. But the poor lass has such a bad time with her ears and all.

The Dr tried to make light of it saying they will put her to sleep and send me to a waiting room to cry and by the time I dry my tears, she will be done. I just can't stand the idea of knowing my baby will be put to sleep at 3 years old. And then being cut. OMG!

I think she will come out better than me though. Pray for the little Angel but pray for her Mom too.

Kimmy had her procedure this morning after 7 and did very well. The Dr. said she had a lot of fluid going on. He said she should be back up to par by tomorrow.

I have to admit that I teared up when they put the anesthesia mask on her face and she started fighting the laughing gas. In no time she was out though. When she came out, I really got scared because it took her a long time to become alert. She would look around like someone in a vegetative state, roll her eyes around, grab her right ear, scream and go limp. After a few times I asked was this normal and the nurse said no and grabbed the oxygen mask.

I nearly passed out! I thought "Lord my child has too much gas and is brain damaged!" That's exactly how she looked. It took about 30 minutes for her to come out. She asked for an Elmo book and then did not recognize Elmo. I gave it a few minutes then she mouthed his name. I knew she was good then. This is a girl who asks to put on her Elmo panties when she wants to.

Anyhow, we are home and she is doing good. Eating blueberry oatmeal and her favorite chocolate milk. Oh, and I am doing better too. I kind of felt she would be okay, but I was more concerned about me. I started to turn the car around 3 times on the way. Thank God it's over and looking for great results!

Ms Goody - Kimmy is going to be fine don't worry too much about her. I had that same operation as an adult about 3 years ago. The ear ache was unbearable so you can imagine why kids cry so much when their ear aches. I had to have the surgery because I was at the ENT every six weeks or so and I was told that I could not fly. Now I only go every 2 - 3 months for them to clean the wax and for a hearing test. (Due to the infection (caused by using 'Q' tips to clean my ear and a part of the cotton came off and was left in my ear I lost some hearing in both ears).

Wow, thanks for sharing. I was concerned about the pain. Also, when I was born, I had a cyst that grew about 2 inches from my ear. My Mom went and had it lanced and the Dr. told her I would have ear problems. Well, I know first hand how embarrassing and difficult it is to have people repeat themselves 2 or 3 times until you just have to nod and say "oh, yeah" not knowing what you are either agreeing or laughing to. I have done it for years and I do not want her to go through that because I'm too scared to have her taken care of.

She's running and jumping now watching her cartoons. I feel so much better about her now. We were up at 4 to be there at 5:30 for a 7am procedure. So while I am pooped, she is energized. I need some laughing gas now!

Thanks Nanook. Kimmy has had no complaints since her procedure. She spotted her eardrops one night and said, "Mommy my ears hurt". When I turned my head, she got the drops and put some in her ears. Scared me! I think she put more on the ear than in them.

Ironically, they prescribed eye drops for her ears if she has pain. I still have not figured that one out. Otherwise, she's good. Thank God for that!

It's been a long time since I posted here. Kimmy is still growing by leaps and bounds. She just turned 4 on last Monday the 15th. We finally had her Adoption Celebration/Birthday Party on the 14th. It was a huge success. We had a Banquet Hall beautifully decorated and invited nearly 200 people. She was the Belle of the Ball! We actually had a Ceremony with a Prayer and Dedication. There was an excerpt given by a Deacon on the blessings of having children. One of my ex co-workers sang a Whitney Houston song in our honour. I still don't know what it was. It was supposed to have been "I Believe The Children Are Our Future" but SHE chose another song off the album.

Kimmy enjoyed herself. She had on a beautiful Ivory dress with pink flowers. She was beautiful! She was all over the place! She got a lot of gifts that we did not have time to open until last night. We were so tired Sunday night after the party and that Monday we ran around running errands. Tuesday we drove up to VA to see my family and came back on Friday. My birthday was the 20th and she looked at her room full of gifts and asked, "Mommy, where are your presents?" I had to laugh. I said we will get Mommy a new iPhone. That satisfied her.

I will try to post some pics from the Celebration, but as usual, I have to remember how to use the disk on here.

Hi Ladies! Thanks for thinking about us. We have about 4 disks and I need to get the ones with the best pictures on them and put a few on so you can see how big Kimmy is. She's over half my height and I am 5'3". But she's thin so it makes her look taller. I'm off tomorrow so I will try to get them on then.
