Glad it went well ((MissG)) Wish they would stop 'finding' a next possibility, they have had enough months to give family members the opportunity to do what is right for the child. I think Grandma is just pulling stall tactics and is not a real obstacle. Although it is a struggle, keep patient and in time I feel Kimmy will be where she needs to be.... with your guidance and love.

I"m hoping everything works itself out for you and Kimmy.
Well, it's been a long time since I last updated you guys. I was in a tizzy after the last court date and then the beginning of this month, another lady decided to hit my car and this time I was hurt. Thank God Kimmy was not in the car. Our Tonka Toy is out of commission, but we get to cruise the streets in a 2007 Candy Apple Red Pontiac G6! Anyway, while I have been out recuperating, my DFACS case worker decided to try and use that to his advantage. It seems the Judge requested for Kimmy and myself to appear in court on Tuesday. He calls me that morning, from the court building, asking if I knew we had a court hearing. He knew I did not know because it is his repsonsibility to make sure we are there or someone from my Agency and Kimmy are there. I asked what the meeting was for and he said he will tell me when he gets back to his Office. I knew something was up, so I get my Agency on three way. He has no answers.
A day later, he calls to tell me that the Judge ordered them to submit a TPR on Kimmy's Mom because no one from the family are showing any interest in her and all deadlines have been exhausted. He was there to request an extension of their care. That is the reason he did not tell me to come to the hearing but told them I was absent because I had a car accident. It happened that even without us there, the Judge possibly had enough info from the Panel Review members to show that Kimmy is being well cared for and needs to cease to be a ward of the state, so he issued the TPR. God is good!
She is now going to go up for Adoption and he has said he will also put my name in as the person interested in adopting her. It is wonderful news but at the same time I feel for her young Mom. Their major concern was that she will soon turn 16, 17 or 18, mature, and realize she wants to have her baby and she will not be available. But we simply cannot wait for her to grow up and in the meantime rob Kimmy of a life that she is having with me. I must admit, I would fight tooth and nail if they tried to take her away from me after I have had her even 1 year, let alone 3 or 4 like some people haggle along. No sir!
I think back 2 weeks after I had her and I took her to the ER for her cold because DFACS would not produce Medicaid numbers for her. A Lady came up to me and told me that God told her that Kimmy was going to be mine and would not be going back to her Mother. Of course, I looked at her and smiled and explained that she was in the process of being given to her "Aunt" as soon as fingerprints, rah rah... She told me to stop saying that and trust what she said. She told her 2 little kids to pray for MsGoody to keep Kimmy. I wish I had taken her name/number to let her know God is answering her's and a whole lot of people's prayers.
Kimmy is good. She was out from Daycare 1 week and staying with friends after the accident. The 1st day back, she took a cold. But she's getting her proper Meds and still playing, dancing, smiling, shopping and being the Baby Diva she is! She's now at 26 pounds and is 15 months with 15 teeth. One for each year. Fav words.. "I eat!", "Tank you", "Heh you" (sounds like hey you, but means hello) and "Tah Tah" (another version of thank you).
She is a beautiful blessing from the Lord indeed. She attracts attention everywhere we go. I am entertaining the idea of getting a 3 year old in the home to keep her company. She is too clingy when we are home alone, but she enteracts well at her Nana's because there is a 5 year old girl there that swings off the Chandelier. Hyper!!!
So here is where we're at now. Hopefully, we will have all the legalities completed in a few months. I am glad this thread is still here so that I can give updates. Gotta go get some rest now. Caio!
Sorry to read about your accident msgoody2shoes but am also glad to read that the state is starting TPR!!
26Lbs and 15 months makes her appear to be a big baby.. I cant believe how much she has grown.. Definitely enjoy the moments with her (as I know you are).

Thanks kia*! As soon as I figure out how, I will flood this site with pictures of her. I need a scanner. She's a long way from the tiny tot that came to me 5 months ago.
Thank God she can walk! I am still the only one who will hold her. Diva will not walk on leaves, dirt or sand! Partially my fault for not exposing her to them. I don't have (gulp) time for the park and stuff. Her Nana took her and she reported to me that she will not walk on sand. OMG! I'm afraid to take her to the zoo because she is terrified of all animals. She loves "burds" because they are in the air. Anything crawling, forget about it! But we are going to the Zoo! And Hilton Head! And one day we may even take time to go out in the backyard and step on some leaves.

get a disposable camera and ask them to develop the pictures on a CD
AWWWWWW I'm so glad things are going your way. You just never know what Angels are in your presence. I had a simular experience just a couple of weeks ago. The baby that I take care of and I was suppose to meet one of my friends to play at her job.
Things fell throughand when I got to my friend's job she wasn't there since her boy is 1 months and overly active I thought just maybe she couldn't stick around longer.
Now I was thinking what should I do, I decided to go to the mall and just walk around with the baby in the stroller. I went to the bookstore and bought 2 books on sale and knowing the baby wouls start to fuss because of hunger I decided to sit on the bench and feed him.
This old Black lady came and she was so interested in the baby he was just laughing and grinning at her. She had a suitcase so I asked her was she going on a big trip. She started telling me about the bad luck she has had her husband died and some how she was swindled out of her house nad had to move.
We chatted a while and she thanked God that she got to chat and the baby really made her day. We just never know who we are going to touch spiritually and who touches us at the same time. Here this lady was getting shipped out of her house and things but all in all she had the biggest warmest heart.

Thanks to all you Ladies!
Seveen, I just got the pictures developed and I started to do that for State Farm but didn't. Ughh!!! I think I have a set that was put on a disk but it may not have her on it. I will check and see. What do I do from there? I am not computer savvy. I know I have to put it in the CD Rom thingy, but how to post it deludes me. I have a ton of pictures but not on the disk. I'll get some on here as soon as I find a friend with a scanner.
Just an update. We are still waiting for the TPR to go through. Meanwhile, Kimmy is good and growing. I will post some pictures here as soon as I get a disk from WalMart this week. Glad this thread is still here and available. I may soon have another one to add to it as I am seriously considering getting a little boy to add to the family soon. I would want him to be the same age or a little older than Kimmy. Can't deal with the diapers anymore.
