No ..not yet. Mi meet some a di parents back to school night and listened to their questions and some of the questions they asked sounds like they have the same issue and their own. The bus issue seemed to be the most concerning for half of them there.

But even wid di bus issue for instance.. Unu explain to me why yuh have lickle innocent children pan di bus an yuh dont have system to ensure they come off at the right stop. The driver dont even have the names of the kids to check off ... all im do is pick up di pickney dem an leave it up to dem fi know dem stop

Lawks poor Wendy when me was a kindergarten teacher we {teacher and teacher's assistant] used to accompany the little ones to the bathroom. As for the food she will soon larn if mek har food choices she will also learn that school food is not going to be like home food. Is there a cafeteria assistant to help the little ones make their selections? Maybe a parent could volunteer to assist them in the selection of their lunches. After all this is new to them they went from being babies in pre-K to sort of being on their own.

Aye sah de finger nails how dat come in because the teacher ole. Wendy2 will be just fine. Don't worry too much Wendy - children bounce back real good they are made to last.

St_bess you are asking all the questions we have asked..where are the assistants? Are the children going to the bathroom alone? All a dat

Yes dere is an assistant but what dat assistant doing wi still cyaan figga out cause Wendy2 is not eating a daytime

Wendy.. Have you thought of putting her in a school nearer to your Job.. There are some good one in that area.. the one that I sent my children to is the private Catholic school &quot;Nativity Catholic Academy&quot;.. it is a good school and they don't strictly enforce the Catholic ideaology, but they are required to go to Mass.. It is on Marlboro Pike.. if this is an option.. I can get a list of the good good Private and Public..schools in that area.

You can even use my address if you so desire, I am still in that area.

I know the stress you are feeling with it being the Baby Girl and all.. and yes Better days are coming... Hang in there..

I have to admit we were just focused on looking for school near our home and never even considered near my job. One of the reasons for that is my uncertainty to whether or not I will be staying at this job. In other words, your home is far more fixed than your job.

But the private schools in our area is like sending her to Yale Dem want your arm, your leg an 2 lbs of liva!

But I will take a deep breath and see how the school year pans out. Mi noh pramise seh if dis kip up shi going back nex year dowe.

I am with Rich D...pack her up wid extra snack items just in case. Pickney dat age is very finnicky.


Sen her to school wid clorox wipes in a baggy an have her wipe di seat before she siddung....

Mi nuh know wha else fi seh dat nobody else tell yu but hang in there ...kids are tuff...is jus we Moms are di soft puddings ...mi neva tell unoo dat mi bawl one whole week wen Abi start school don't it?

so they dont have a bus buddy and a lunch monitor system in place
- meaning an older child that is on her bus come to her class room at the end of the day pick her up and make sure she gets on the bus

-and an older child from say grade 6 goes into the class and sit with them during lunch time and make sure they eat
thats what is done at Bre's school
This is Bre's 2nd year as a lunch monitor
She is also now a bus buddy too

It is overwhelming for these little kids when it comes to eating/getting their lunch and if they are not supervised most often they wont eat or get a lunch
would it not be better if you pack her a lunch Wendy

**sigh** She left her sweater (sweater number 3) at school yesterday. Dad dropped her off dis morning an call mi seh di sweater cyaan fine. TREE sweater gaan now. Di shyt is annoying!

Dyam grown a$$ Ooman cyaan mek sure di pickney dem lef di classroom wid dem tings. Im ask her why shi noh do dat an shi a look pan im tell seh dats what shes does. Dyam liyad cause if dat was di case every striking clothes pan di coat rack would be gone as the kids leave. I felt like bussing Wendy2 a$$ to cause mi noh what di hell is wrang wid har why she keeps leaving her clothes behind!!

I cannot stan these people at this school ..Jah know. Fram school start evey odda day is a dyam substitute teacha soh there has been no consistency in this child's school life so far.

Anyway ..Sweetsop. We ago pack odda tings inna har bag odda dan di usual snack&gt; An anyhow shi come home again an tell mis eh dem noh allow har fi eat har tings because bus a wait.,..unu look out fi mi pan di 11'aclak news

I am not Catholic but I do respect their approach to education. And they are least expensive of private schools and they are good schools in our <span style="text-decoration: line-through">corner of heaven</span> area. Area Catholic Schools
