Good Evening,
I am sending this weeks correspondence a day earlier as schools will be closed on Thursday this week due to the Rosh Hashanah. I wish all of our families and staff that celebrate Rosh Hashanah a very happy Jewish New Year.
I am still awaiting a program to be installed on my computer in order to be able to edit our <span style="font-weight: bold">W</span>ebsite. This should be done soon so I once again ask for your <span style="font-weight: bold">patients</span> until this is resolved.
I have also received word that parents are under the impression that students are to eat lunch silently. This is not true. Based on past practice rules have been established in our lunchroom where students are to raise their hands in order to approach the condiment cart or to leave their tables for any reason. <span style="font-weight: bold"> I and our lunch aids</span> <span style="font-style: italic">have recently observed that students in our lunches have been getting out of their seats in mass groups without permission and some students were even throwing some food across tables</span>. Our bathrooms have been filled with students causing noise and disruption during lunch time as well. I needed to address this with<span style="font-weight: bold"> both of our lunches</span> and asked them to be silent in order to fully understand the rules as restated to them. At no time did I or any of our l<span style="font-weight: bold">unch aids </span>say the students have to have silent lunches from this point on.
I am currently piloting certain 5th grade students on bus one to be named Bus Safety Patrol. They will wear a tag which states their name and that they are xxxxx Elementary Bus Safety Patrol. I will evaluate how this is working in approximately a few weeks and if deemed successful I will name more students for all <span style="font-style: italic">busses. -<span style="color: #CC0000">(this is technically a correct spelling for the plural of the word bus)</span></span>.

This is the new principal of her school.. The last principal I loved but as my town a change superintendent and principal like underwear ah guess dis is what we get (tenk Gad is this is her last year there).

Mi don't member-mi figet fi ask mi aunty when she was up here in August to give me a list of books to get in JA.
last year I used 2 books from scholastic
"Success with Grammar-Grade 5" ( didn't know bout dem till
last year, otherwise I would have used them from grade 1)
"Scholastic Guides-Checking Your Grammar and getting it right" by Marvin Terban" (this one is easy enough for kids in grades 4-8 to understand)
the spelling bee website also has a list of common words that people
just cannot seem to stop from mix up

The issue mi have is that whatever likkelgen learn from me isn't being reinforced at school. The teacher dem nuh grade fi grammar or reinforce the rules, suh mi just haffi keep pressing on likkel likkel and hope something stick by the end of 8th grade

I know fortunately boyKia only have run on issues and we correct dat by having him read him tings out loud... and send him work to parental review before it go to the client (him teachers)
He is getting better at it and through reading out loud catches errors.
In 3rd grade he was taught to proofread him work and im still a resist
