never heard of someone messing up rice in the rice cooker....mine even has the lines of measurment on the inside of the cooker. My 12 yo neice can even cook rice in the rice cooker perfect everytime.
i just put di pat pan di fiyah and add more water as needed. i've never made bad rice. k. that italian rice is hell to cook but nott'n tase betta wid bully beef.

Bring to boil rapidly
As soon as you see steam cover (if it is not yet covered), turn down the heat till you can barely see steam coming from the pot.
If you are using an Electric Stove turn down to about 1
When there is no more steam or negligible amount of steam the rice s ready.
Perfect rice every time.
