I love love love French Food and no I do not know how to cook nun a dem. Whenever I go away I make a beeline for some good French Food. There are two place here in Canada where whenever am in that part of Canada (Yorkville) in Toronto or if I am in Martinique lawd dem dishes just as enjoyable as sex....did I jus say that out loud Ofcourse yu cannot beat the authentic dishes if yu dey a France. I was there once an truss me I live a dem restaurant never did much sight seeing the food is to die for....at least some of them restaurant.

Even tho am Canadian am really not a lover of Canadian Food it is too bland a mean my family still eat Moose Meat, try put some jamaican seasoning like jerk and dem ting pon dat Moose and si how iiee taste jus plain nassy. Lawd dem used to beat me iiessi fi eat dem sinting dey me always wanda how come me so differnt fram dem. Den wen me find out sey me part jammi mi na why

Anyway I have rambled on enough oonu na how mi love fi chat, go si how dat gyal Tanyer read dis anna sey wot a gyal can chat I digress now

Ja Jewel thanks for the tata salad recipe mine always come out puke puke. I used to just boil the tatas and smash them then add the stuff.

By the way, for anyone who tries the German potato salad...it's supposed to be served warm.....AND the diced bacon should be sauteed for awhile before you add the chopped onions & celery.

-Latino foods(So far I've had Mexican and a bit of Caribbean latino(though I'm very interested in the different dishes-especially to see the similarities with JA food).
-Greek & Italian as well.

Once I was out with my motehr who lives in Galicia...we saw a guy picking up smails... she told me he was Catalan... We had a conversation.. My favorite Spanish dish is Tortilla. .. if you order that in the US you get something different.. In Spain a tortilla is a potato ommalete in the US/ Mexico it is a wrap...(My dauther tells me that she loves me because I mmake the Best Spanish Ommolette in the world....The Gallego make it with potatoes only, the southernes use other vegtables.... One of my favorite resturants in the world is in Betanzos, Galicia and the cook is Cuban!

The same thing with so called Italian food. it also is highly regional... Carbonara is Romaic, there is no such dish as Bologonesie..Rostochini is a dish from Abruzzo you wont get that in the North....

Just now I had a meal at at a Itlioan resturant.. It actually was a Sardinian Resturant.... </div></div>

I guess I was thinking more of what I see teh Dominicans, Puerto ricans etc. eat - I haven;t had much exposure to real cuisine from Spain... (lawks mi really hafef go expand mi culinary horizons yuh nuh)

something I noticed the way food is packaged as a country food is never quite what it is in the home country.. Eating in Italy is a different experience than eating in an Italian resturant.... I am still blown away by memories of meals I have had in Italy....

I am also very much irritated by the North American habit of calling hispanic nations of the western hemisphere spanish... Whyen it come to cussiened from those countries Spain had a major influence yes.. But eating at say a Columbian resturant the tastes and flavours are more akin to Jamaiaca and Africa than Spain.

special meals I have had outside Italy that have been memorable.. There are too many to recall them in Italy all but there was a little Ristorante called Milu in Pescara.. We use to go there after work.. and they would cook for us.. Just say we never paid full price there.. we spent so much money that the evenbing ended with the owner and the cooked inebirated...

Australia:::: A greek resturant in Perth..after a rugby match..
Australia:::: At a resturant in the Karratha international hotel it was a Kangaroo steak in a thick ale based gravy...
Autralia::::: At a pub resturant in Freemantle Called the Crown.. It was the autumn
Scotland:::: Yes Scotland..... In Campbell Town in a grotty Hotel called the international.. Wild salmon on a mash potato seasoned with sage....
Uzbeckistan::::: We stopped by a little place in the Feregana valley and they had just caught a cat gaint fish literally minutes earlier.. we all as asked for 1/2 a kilo.. they seasoned it barbequed it on Mulberry wood.. cant beat that....
Jamaica::: On a resturant on spur tree.... We drove for miles just to go there.. Run by a returnee...
Mauretania::::: I had a guy with my team a Tunisian who was a former chef from Djerba... He went to the market bought fish and seasoned it Tunisian style... Damn.... that was sensational....
Spain: the resturant in Betanzos....And the first time we went there my mother swore blind that the potatoes she had was the greatest she had since the 1930's....

Seriously though a country that I wont say I have had out of the world meals but the food variety and taste cooking is up there with Italy is Malaysia.... Thai, burmese, indonesian, japanese, western, italian, spanish??? allw with a twist... slight diffent feel...

The Australians also have some fantastic variety of foods with various ethno national cuisenes and in the middle price range they are very innovative....

Add beer and bay leaves. Cover with foil and bake at 350degreeF for bout 30mins.

*also please remember to remove the fish head nutin wus dan sumaddy invite you to dinner an the head is looking at yu. </div></div>

Yes I know!! when I go to jamaica they mek sure dem tek off the fish head before dem give to me. And they utter the same words you do Jazzie....yu mad dat is the bess part ah di fish. Den wen me mek hup me face hear dem wey yu know yu a farrinna.....brite. The hotel wone kip dem customer so dem tek awf di head before them serve it

I have never tried it with wine, think you could use a dry wine though as long as it is not ultra dry. Well I can agree with that - even what some people coem and cook here and call Jamaican food - we as yawdies know it lack some of that authenticity...

but ah so it go - my palate is not quite as demanding as yours - I definitely don't consider myself a gourmet I just eat what tastes good to me.

naw jazz mi is no gourmet.... Mi jus nawm food when mi guh.. And I am lucky in that I am in a bizniss that wont question lunch dinner, breakfast bills when I travel..... Also customers will lucn and dine with me.... All the meals I mentioned actually except two were bizness expensed...

Last month I was in the Faroes and I went on a search for whale which I could not find... A client was with me and he paid for the meal...
