I used the exact same words to my friend when I explained what happened
Her kids and I enjoyed the "regular" shortbread cookies I made and she had to eat her dry out of the box gluten-free cookies
but since she doesnt really bake, she gave me her Xanthum (sp?) gum to use as a binder. I'll give the experiment another go this week with the stuff

my sister bakes with it for my niece she said you have to be very exact with all ingredients a little harder to bake than regular flourComment

I was looking for the easy way out with the so-called all purpose gluten free flour
but you are right towngal, I have to be more aware if I am baking such goods. Looks like a new learning curve for me.
Sweets - I went to Zellers and good grief, I am NOT spending $120 on a vacuum sealer
I dont use it enough to warrant that kind of funds. I was hoping to find one waaay under $50, otherwise the price is just too dear for me.

Marsacapone Cheese cost $12.49 a tub
I picked some up to bake brownies and had to seriously consider putting the tub down. Last year...and previous years...the cheese cost no more than $6.99. Now it has almost doubled in price... WTH

Different brand maybe? one of my vitamins the price seemed to double only to realise they couldnt get my cheap one so they had a different brand.Comment

nope. I buy the same type every year. And if you are buying it outside the Italian Centre there are only 2 brands the regular stores carry.
It makes no sense for hte price to jump like that since it is well-known and available outside speciality stores. Once upon a time, you could only get it at the Italian Centre downtown or a boutique grocery store. And yeah, the stuff was expensive and you treated it like gold.
Now IGA, Superstore and Savon carry it. So the price should be going down not up
I mean I picked ut up and put it down at least 4 times before commintting to buying it

thanks for the version below. I technically needed 2 tubs to do what I wanted but I just couldnt bring myself to spend $26 on the stuff...I dont like my friends and family that much.
I'm gonna give the below a try this week and see how it turns out against the real stuff
I like the softness and extra tanginess that marascpone has to regular cream cheese. You cant just substitute them straight across the board...yeah I tried once and it didnt work

You know I totally detest being overcharged
I found some narley looking carrots in a bag of frozen veggies and got ticked and called the company complaining about the spike in price with less quality.
They sent me 28$ in free coupons!

squeeky wheel gets the grease for true!
I did get the checkout girl to verify that the price was correct - I just picked it without looking at price cause it hasnt changed in the past more than a 1 or 2 - but even she said she was surprised.
I'm gonna call another store and check their price and if it is what I am used to paying then, I'm gonna return this one
