Yes the ISweep Panorama is BOSS!

I just got that camera in July and could not wait to try it out ah yawd - it served me well and it's 14 Megapixels pics are awesome!

Yes - i could not believe my eyes when I saw it - As you get closer the falls are deafening and u can get right under them - I couldn't go any closer with the camera though because there was a lot of spray... next time i'll take a water camera with me.

I have no pics of what happened next because I was a bit traumatized and wasn't thinking to take pics but in hindsight I kicked myself for not documenting it.

We packed up and were ready to hit the road back to Kingston... well the van started skidding in the river... the more we tried to push and dig it out - the lower the wheels sunk until the muffler was underwater, and the 2 rear wheels were halfway sunk...

By this time night had fallen and all the other people had packed up and left... all around was pitch black darkness punctuated only with the headlights from the van - the landscape was totally deserted and us with the sunken van in the middle of the river... I started to fret... visions of robbers descending upon us danced in my head because we were literally sitting ducks...

We tried many strategies to loosen the van - someone said everyone including women an children need to get out... the children should stand on the riverbank an the women should help push... So we did that - but to no avail...
the kids were standing on the riverbank yelling &quot;were gonna die!, we're gonna die&quot; \o/

After getting them quieted and singing camp songs instead someone said the van needed weight in the back over the wheels so it can fin some purchase... so the women an children piled back into the van and the men piled debris in front of the wheels and pushed with all their might..

The van would move a millimeter it seemed and then get mired again - In my head I was figuring out worst case scenarios... perhaps we would have to sleep in the van until daybreak and get some help then... we had food enough.
perhaps someone had to leave an walk to the nearest town?
My niece later told me that she was never worried about robbers or violence of any kind because having been there before she knew the kind of people who live nearby and they were salt of the earth, good hearted, Jamaicans - the kind we grew up knowing and loving.
wish she would have shared that little tidbit while I was fretting my head off

So as we were struggling and playing musical seats inside the van - this young man came by and said he could go fetch a tractor to pull us out... then he disappeared into the bush (more fretting on my part - suppose him bring back him fren dem to rob we )

Eventually we look up and see 3 lights coming toward us from waaaaaay in the middle distance - not headlights - tiny pinpricks an strangely enough they seemed to be moving around.. one of the kids yelled &quot;ALIENS&quot;

turns out it was the tractor which had no headlights so was being guided by 3 flashlights held aloft kikikiki - gotta love it - only Jamaica

This tractor looked like it had been built in 1942 - I said to myself &quot;there is no way in hell that's gonna get us out&quot; - but the fellow just ignored us all, tied his rope to the front of the van and hauled us the heck out of there... he was a gentleman of few words just did his thing - we gave him ah money and he was off...

I so wish I had the good sense to take a picture of that tractor and the adventure...
to it's credit - the van never shut off - not once - even when the muffler was under the water for a long period of time...

All's well that ended well and tired but safe and happy we headed home...

The next day was Monday and we headed to Mandeville again - to say our goodbyes because the following day we would be heading to Montego Bay and would not see them for the remainder of the trip...

It was as all goodbyes are - a sad affair... let us just close the curtain and move on...

I had my fill of <span style="font-weight: bold">PAPAYA AND SWEETSOP </span> while I was there - 2 of my favorites! - I had all this by myself that night... we also had <span style="font-weight: bold">STEW PEAS</span> for dinner - but I swear to you the thing sweet mi so much - I never think about the camera until the food was done \o/

It was Tuesday - we ha been in Ja. for one week already and it was time to hit the road back to Montego Bay... goodbyes were said...
