A Foodies Trip Report

I decided to do my report from another angle which is near and dear to my heart... documenting all the food eaten and enjoyed on my trip. There will be one or two pics which may not be food pics but bear with me as it all eventually leads back to the next meal.

For those who may not know I went home on the 10th of August and returned yesterday the 24th.

I'll spare you the preliminaries... we (Husband an daughter) landed after an uneventful flight, picked up the rental and hit the road from Montego Bay to Kingston... stopping only to get a couple digicel chips for the phones an to pick up some food.

Our first meal in Ja. - Dan said this was the best fried chicken she ever had in her life... I figured it could be true considering she only had 11 years of experience to draw from -

It was DAM good fried chicken though and we killed it!

We got to Kingston after <span style="font-weight: bold">MAJOR </span>delays in the Bog Walk gorge due to some sort of road or pipe work... I bought some Jackfruit along the way but forgot to take pics so I decided to post a pic from the net instead.

We were tired but psyched so when my niece and her husband suggested drinks an karaoke we were all for it and headed out to SCOTCHIES in New Kingston.

We encountered some young guys there who clearly were not educated on the timeless quality of a good BOGLE dance and after some feeble attempts to teach me the current moves - I felt it my duty to share the classic moves with them... I think the whole exercise went rather well

It had been a long day - I was tired - we got home around 3 AM and I fell into a sound sleep - I had been up at 4 the day before... but I was home in my beloved country - I had 2 weeks of glorious fun and food to look forward to - life was good!

A quick installment before I head out with the little one... The next morning Ms. Enid and Ms. Joy (the helpers at my niece's) delivered with deeelicious Saltfish and Banana... I devoured that with a generous helping of Scotch Bonnet on the side YUM!

After breakfast we piled into the car an headed for the cool hills of Mandeville... Time to see Mama an Daddy.
The day was spent with family - it was low key, it was nice - The folks are doing as well as can be expected at eighty Seven (87) years old... Mama still threatening to beat me for facetying miself wid har after mi tell har dat she can go look young bway

I had CURRY GOAT and FRIED FISH for lunch - sorry no pics... private moments.

Two years ago, Mr. PZ declared the same sentiments about a fried chicken lunch he had in a likkle restaurant just before you get to Middle Quarters traveling from the west. Mi seh di food was so good it wi mek yuh tan up an slap yuh mummah! Mr. PZ was the child of two Southern parents, so him raise on good fried chicken
