Dear Pastor,
I am 40 and have never been married. I have been living with a woman for 10 years but she is not marriage material. She said that the reason I am not marrying her is not because she is not marriage material, it is because I am not the marriying type. Twice I caught men in my house. The last time I caught her with a man she only had on a slip and nothing under it, and she could not give me a reason why the man was at the house.
Pastor, I work by my spirit. I left for the country and my spirit told me after the first night to go back home. When I went back, I saw a man in my house. When the man saw me he put on his shoes and left. She told me he was her co-worker and he was only there because when he called, she told him that she was alone, so he came to keep her company. But the last time it was a different man, and she was only in her brassiere and slip. I asked her if he was another co-worker and she could not speak at all.
I suspect that she has been giving me bun for a long time, so I am not even sure if the children we have together are mine. I don't know if I could stand it if they were not my children.
So when I say this woman is not wife material, she has given me enough proof.
Would you marry a woman you can't trust, sir?
Since I saw the last man at the house, I have refused to have sex with her. What can I do?
A.W
Dear A.W.,
It doesn't appear as if this relationship has any future. You have enough reasons not to trust this woman. I understand why you do not consider her wife material, but what are you going to do? Both of you are living together and sharing common facilities. The only thing you are not doing right now is having sex.
Perhaps both of you should go and see a family counsellor or a lawyer and agree to separate and share the assets. I suggest first that you talk to a family counsellor, and if you do not believe that you can forgive this woman and marry her, you should contact a lawyer.
