Are we blaming the liberation of women for the decay of society's morals? Are you kidding?

You know, it is everyone's choice to live the life with which they are comfortable. If <span style="font-weight: bold">independence and liberation</span> is not your choice then you are free to choose. <span style="font-weight: bold">That</span> is the liberation for which many women AND MEN have died.

The selfish thing in this is to try and prevent anyone from having and enjoying <span style="font-weight: bold">their</span> choice of expressing <span style="font-weight: bold">their</span> liberation and independence.

<span style="font-weight: bold">I believe that the decay of society overall, is a result of POORLY MANAGED RELATIONSHIPS, whether it be adult to child, adult to adult or child to child.</span>

Just because there is a husband now doesn't mean they'll be there later. What will happen if your husband decides that he doesn't want to be there anymore?
Just one day he says he's tired of being married/father and dips?
Are you gonna buckle under the pressure?
Are you gonna run out and find a man so your children can call someone Daddy?
Or are you gonna be independant and liberated and get up and take care of your daughters and show them that a man is not a necessity and a man does not define who you are?

Yes it would be nice to have the family of Mom, Dad, and Kids. But in reality, even AFTER marriage it doesnt turn out that way.

It's not selfish to want someone to love, it's not selfish for a single woman to have or adopt a child as long as she can care for it. I see more love in a single parent household more times that I see in the so called &quot;perfect family setting.&quot;

My aunt raised 4 girls on her own, by different men. Her daughters are now married and have children. But mind you if their husbands were to dip. They'd still hold down, because they are educated out their [censored].

Apples &amp; Oranges. From what I have read, what does this have to do with CHOOSING to have a child by AI as a single woman?

Granted, <span style="font-weight: bold">some</span> people take advantage of their <span style="font-weight: bold">independence and liberation</span> in a way that is not acceptable by the moral police, but how does that affect those who are choosing to use their independence to their comfort for the advancement of society (it's true purpose)?

Your post (Phatty) remind me of a sibling who thought the world revolved just because of her. She was raised with her paternal grandmother who was very religious and very critical, so we (the other siblings) believe that she is just a product of her environment.

She felt as if her world was perfect and everyone else had perfect flaws.

She been working at New York Life for over 15 years and thought that she had a job for life. She'd criticize anyone who'd dare change jobs and you are the spawn of evil, if you were laid off or fired.

Well, she was too embarrassed to tell the family that her butt was laid off last week. We heard it through the grapevine and actually called and offered her our support.

As much as I was tempted to remind her of how insensitive she had been to other people's misfortune alllllll her life, I thought I'd be the bigger sis and leave her to marinate in her own thoughts.

Moral: Don't EVER think that what happens to others can never happen to you!!

Another life situation that has humbled me.

My husband's very close friend (they grew up together in Jamaica and both moved to the US in the same year) and his wife lost their son when he was 12 years old, to a freak accident. She was 38 and he 41.

The death put a serious strain on the marriage (as these types of events sometimes do) and although they tried, they really did, to make it work, the boy was such a staple in their lives that the grief eventually drove them apart.

Now here we are 5 years later and she recently told me that she really wants to have another child and is considering AI.

Is she wrong? Is she selfish? How would the moral police categorize her?
