You know, it is everyone's choice to live the life with which they are comfortable. The selfish thing in this is to try and prevent anyone from having and enjoying <span style="font-weight: bold">their</span> choice of expressing <span style="font-weight: bold">their</span> liberation and independence.

yup...what I have not even mentioned is that this thread has seemed to take a turn as if all single mothers are selfish ...that is <span style="font-weight: bold">not</span> the case.

the focus of the thread is not women who sleep with some guy who does not want to be a father and then get pregnant accidentally and decide not to abort.

the focus of the thread is not women whose baby fathers or husbands have left them.

The focus of the thread is single women who willingly get pregnant just because they feel like having a baby.

Strangely enuff, I heard about an hour ago, a man calling in on the radio and saying that failed marriages are destroying the country...the woman who I believe is hosting the show,..said not so, what is killing America is the &quot;nuclear family..&quot; She even went on to say, &quot;it takes a village to raise a child.&quot;...My mind ran on this thread then.

Gone are the days of the extended family that would be ready willing and able to assist with raising a child. As a result, the job of raising a child is now harder than before; so I don't see how some are saying that it is okay as long as the woman is able to care for her child by herself with help here and there from family and friends.. As far as I am concerned it is not the same as the extended family that has a commitment and expectation to help with the nurturing of the child....so imagine how difficult it in a two parent home, much less a one parent home, much less a home where no Daddy is out there real or imagined.
