You have a very good point there. She is a little controlling but sometimes it is very hard to see the demarcation line between <span style="font-weight: bold">control and fear</span>...or are they two sides of the same coin?

Either way, the outcome tend to be the same.

I just want to say <span style="font-weight: bold"> A BIG THANK YOU </span> to everyone who read and provided valuable feedback in this thread.

I am thankful mostly for posting this before speaking with Joan, because God help me if I didn't read the comments from people like Kia and SandiF who reminded me to keep calm. THANK YOU!!!!

This is a difficult time and me feel as if me in the middle now.

Yesterday, I told Pete that I went to see Joan. I told him the same thing I told her, that they need to talk and have some form of closure. I DID NOT give him any details as much as he kept asking, and I also told him that I DID NOT tell her that we'd spoken. He was relieved to hear that.

Me told him that the BBQ will be moved and him can choose to come or not, same as I told her. There are many, many questions but I have to consciously decide how much more involved I want to become. Me know enough people who rekindle and turn on the innocent person in the middle, and I do not want to be that person.

Me told both of them that me feel overwhelmed by the tragedy of it all, and hope that they can work it out, but me do not want to become any more engrossed in them unfortunate situation. If they want a shoulder to cry on or someone to help, I will be there for both of them, but I refuse to become a Go-Between, or to ride with them down the road of destruction. Me too old for that nonsense. They both know that I love them and will do whatever is reasonable to help them but things like this, they need to work out themselves.

Thanks again (((JAM.COMMERS))) for being there like you'd never know.

At some point, Pete will find out that she's had more than the one abortion. He'll see through her claims that she was 'unsure' and feeling 'unworthy' <span style="font-style: italic">this time around</span>. He'll realise that she never really wanted the family that she begged him to settle down and start with her. He'll also see that she's 'falling apart' because he <span style="font-style: italic">now knows</span>.

He'll feel used. And he'll have the harder time of the two, to bounce back. He's going to second guess every woman from this point on. If he allows another woman to get close, he will forever have doubts in his mind about her and he will prolly never give as freely of himself as he had with Joan.

So Joan has really done the dirty not only on him and the unborn, but on any future relationship Pete may have.
