Blueness, I understand what you are saying, however, an abused person (man or woman) cannot buy into the "ghetto" mentality that the police will arrest you first, that is not always the case. On the other hand, just as women do, go to the cops and get a restraining order against her, at least file a police report, that way, if it happens again and you lose yuh tempa, it deh deh pon record that she has a history.

Walking away is easier said than done </div></div>
and even harder on him because of his age. If that was his woman, he may have been afraid of walking away from more than her tantrums...her goodies too.

You know Mrs. MarieK, I would have made a statement in a heartbeat, especially if it evolved into HER getting help with anger management. But, if he hit her, would they both be equally wrong? And would he get the stiffer punishment because he's a man?

I am sure that by the time it gets to the physical stage, no matter the age, the abuse had taken place before in other ways.

This is not a suggested solution, but if more people start to call the coroner to haul the carcass out instead of calling the police, I am sure there would be an instant decrease. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif[/img]

As been said before, ABUSE is ABUSE is ABUSE. It is NOT A JOKE!!! IT is NOT FUNNY and SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN LIGHTLY.

No, it is called self-defense. Once you were there to say she was hitting him, the cops technically cannot arrest him especially since you are not an interested party in what was happening. Even if she claimed HE hit her first the fact that you were there then he would have to be released provided you were able to do that.

When it gets to the point where another individual can hear your frustration with the other party then it's time to do something and it is not right for anyone to be hit or abused in any way. People need to be respected, but you will only get it once you give it.

Existing takes sheer common sense, sadly, many lack it. The ghetto fabulous lifestyle warrants street justice but that is not right, there is only one way and it is the right way.

I understand, Mrs. MarieK. I guess I was reflecting on the distant past….about 18 years ago a friend of mine had his face and chest shredded by the sharpened fingernails of his girlfriend while he slept. He hit her and knocked her to the floor to get her to stop. They started fighting, someone called the cops. They both were arrested, but he got the worse of it because he was a male (the police actually said this to him). But then to, it was her story against his…no witnesses.
