dont know why this dissolved into a discourse about feminism... but cooking, cleaning, rearing kids will be my choice not something imposed on me by someone else.

if something needs to be re-negoitated in terms of how the house can run better then, it will be.

if i stay at home with my kids, its because I choose to as well. I had a stay-at-home mom til I was in junior high and so did all my friends around me. I want for my kids what I was given.

but i am educated enuff that if we need the extra dollars or god-forbid something happens to my husband, I can step in and make just as much money.

in life everyone has his own set of values/rules to live by. I have never liked the idea of being sally homemaker. I'm an excellent cook but I dont want to "have to" cook everyday. the man should be equally adept at preparing a meal.

That is a lie. There are plenty of men who don't want their wives to work. My Mother has not worked since back in the 70's and her husband would not have it any other way. Every man out there is not on the "If I have to work, you have to work too" trip. Then there are women who work not because it's a requirement, they want to and the husband has no objection. Every relationship is different.

If a woman can go out and work 9 or 10 hours a day, what makes a man think she should come home and work the whole house and he sits in his easy chair waiting for handouts?? A decent man will come home and pitch in to make the house run smoothly. He can get the kids homework done. Get their baths done. Take out the trash. Sweep a floor. Or even cook. In some households, the man is the cook and all is well. There is no rule book on this subject so nobody should be judged.
