there really is no yes or no answer. depends on the woman and the man. some guys really really want the ring to be perfect and so they bring the woman friend cause the friend know har taste and chances are dem chat bout the ring ad nauseam (sp)


other guys will do it themself and mek the ooman guh change it after the fact.

truth is most men are so nervous dat mi nuh even know how dem manage mutter "will you marry me" much less pick out perfect ring.

im & reputable jeweler (so if it tun out the size noh right it can tek back bla bla bla)

if im a shap craiglist fi de ring dem unless im is a jeweler mi will tink im need help

A sincere and conscientious boyfriend would have discussed the ring possibility with his SO before him go buy ring. By discussing it with her the hardest part is over. He can then go to any Zales etc. and he will get all the help he needs.
