When you go get your hair done, do she put gel on it and palm roll? I will be in Atlanta soon and will be looking for a Locktician!

i'm gonna get it washed, tightened, maybe color - want to cover the "orange" so it's just black and white, trim and layer the back - not sure about the color though [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] i would prefer to use something natural 'cause i don't want "roots" later - so we'll see about that one

i think the orange bits are souvenirs from Red Ground, Negril [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] i hope they just wash out

she uses gel and palm rolls or interlocks (without the crochet hook thingy) as appropriate
i will see if she lets me post pictures of the "process"

the tightening will last until after my December Jamaica trip [img]/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

i don't really get roots and the colour just fades with washings.

i am afraid if i go red i will have to buy a new wardrobe - but we'll see what happens - last time i had it all black and it looked like someone drew hair on top of my head

i am very low maintenance and i'm hesitate to start with the color and have to go every 6 weeks or so for more color - that's why i gave up perms, and stuff to start with - i won't even let her put me under the dryer after she does my hair - i usually make her cornrow it and put it in some kind of style

go deep brown, semi permanent. i do mine myself and trust me i'm low maintenance. you guys all making me feel ashamed [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img] with your lockticians, gels and tightenings [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

i did mine myself for 10 years and it looked fine.
it's just nice to have someone else do it once in a while - it's easier for them to see your whole head - and it's nice to get that pampered feeling

i have been thinking about writing a book about why/when people decided to dread with pictures - so i'm thinking of taking my tape recorder today also - so i can write up a few stories
