i think once a month is wayyy too long to not wash anyones' hair.

does it get a greasy feel after a few days? if so wash it then and use baby shampoo & conditioner. The baby shampoo & conditioner is designed for baby hair so is gentle. At her age I dont think vaseline and dem greasy things should be put in her hair anyway as she may be in a stage where she is putting everything into her mouth..

Only plait (braid) it if you feel like.. From the pic her hair looks curly and can we worn curly with a clip.. Not necessary to plait it.

do not put vaseline inna di chile hair. a nice baby shampoo with detangler and then condition should be fine. judging from the picture, her hair texture is not that different from yours.

Your baby is an absolute doll. Her hair texture looks similar to my friends daughters hair and trust me dat deh hair no plait too often..

a little pony tail is fine..

i forgot ur in humid florida.. how does it look after a few hours? is it curly wild? if so a gentle gel on her hair can calm the flyaways.
