Slips did go out of style? I'm not a tough old turtleback woman, but I still wear them.

I'm so sick of looking at thongs, tramp stamps, and butt cracks that I sometimes wish women would throw one slip on over their jeans. The men with the sagging pants could use one too.

Yes there was something to be said for wearing the right undergarments. In a knit dress a slip is essential for those breezy occassions.

she was not but her twin was

her twin died when I was about 9 months old and she died when I was 3

I would have to say women had more time to take care of themselves too (less distractions such as TV, internet, etc) so they had the time to put on the layers and dress

what a<span style="font-style: italic"> lovely </span>woman she was, keyer..... and not just the clothes - although they are indeed a perfect illustration of how the whole look and silhouette is complete, and chic, with the correct foundation garments, yes. She is pretty and attractive but NOT showin alla har business esee; whereas these days it seems the <span style="font-style: italic">intention</span> is to 'show everything ya got' underneath the cloze. i don't care how young or ole you are, showing the outline of every private part right through the clothing is just NOT IT. too many people these days mistake tacky and slutty for 'sexy'.

Also, you can see that her positive spirit and her smile, <span style="font-style: italic">does </span>reach her eyes.... just lovely

i mean, i'm the first to admit i'm pretty lackadaisical &amp; bohemian in my everyday manner of dressing, but once i'm getting dressed up in a nice frock or gown i MUST have the good foundations underneath to complete the look. otherwise i'd just be a bohemian who threw on a fancy frock - the dress would be wearing <span style="font-style: italic">me </span> &amp; i'd look a hot rumpled mess, instead of looking 'finished' and chic &amp; like i <span style="font-style: italic">belonged</span> in that fancy frock.

most well made skirts and dresses do come with lining so that helps a great deal
