well it's been fun sharing dis journey. reminded me of where i am and where i am coming from.

sometimes i miss my loose hair



but the beauty about where i am is that i actually like it and if i decide to chop it off again tomorrow, i am cool since my hair does not define me.

Wow. What a vivid memory of it all. It'a amazing what we go through as little girls trying to get "tall" hair. My sister got my moms hair type and she wore her shirley temples like a real sport. Never missing the chance to call mi bomboo brush head. Like you I resorted to locks. My locks are not the twist kind, I have sisterlocks. http://www.sisterlocks.com.

I enjoyed coming along with you on your journey. I am trying to convince my DIL to let my grandbaby get locs. She is 8 yrs old and you can already see the "hair thing" starting to play on her psyche.

I have been loc'd since April 2000, never regretted the money I spent to get the process started to go natural. Locing for me was not a religious statement, but one of convience. One of the best decisions that I have ever made, and money well spent! [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/yahoo.gif[/img]

natty, it must be painful watching your grandkid start off wid dat hair ting. mi dredge up nuff old memories telling dis story and i hope i can save a few likkle girls from going thru it by telling dis story.

congrats on your natural journey. your grandkid will learn from you even if her mom decides to perm it. having conversations with her will do wonders. i wish smaddy did breakdown tings fi mi back den. it wuda save me nuff angst.
