What wonderful options which can easily lead me back to a vegetarian style of eating.. The challenge I faced was travelling a lot for work and not finding enough variety of veggie meals that did not look processed. At home again, it looks like a good time to restart.

What a heap a TvP and PTV aor whatever. I became a vegetarian through the influence of Seventh Day Adventists myself. I used to make Glutten and tried it out in some meals. However after discovering the taste of cooked meals from scratch any memory of meat or meat-like subsitute was int the past.

Simmy the British Folks have a long history of organized Vegetarian Socities. In Britian being Vegetarian or Vegan is not a fad ad you wont be looked upon like a freak. The International Vegetarian Union(http://www.ivu.org/)of which, I am a member is the oldest organized Vegetarian Organization.

This year`s Confrence of the IVU will be in Scotland.

Tg, you didn't say anything about curry. I know many Indians who are vegitarians and they use allot of curry and dhal(sp). Have you ever tried the dhal (it is like a variety of beans)?

Ms. Peaches, thank you so! I will definitely enjoy coconut oil and milk mmm. Makes the curries and red bean soup taste so nice.
Dhal is just an indian word for beans; they eat many many kind: mung dal, toor dal (pigeon peas), channa dal, urad dal etc..
TG, I use those things some time. Your dinner looks delicious. Most days I look in my cabinet, maybe 20 spices there and I curry vegetables.
Also if u have leftover rice, u can fry with chilis, coriander, jeera, or tamrind and mix with any veg you like. There is no end.
If u want to eat out go to an indian veg restaurant, everything is fresh or if chinese ask them to cook you bean curd and chinese veg, u will have a good meal. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Well being from Jamaica I really do not have to mention Curry and Dahl, although we only make
a couple of varieties, the confluence of East Indian, African, Native America, Chinese and British Culinary disciplines have made Jamaican some of the best and most resourceful cooks in the
world, and we utilise all or most of the various seasonings, including curry powder and various beans and peas.

Sure I make Curries. As you can see from my dish above it has all the elements although I did not
use an Annato Based Curry powder.

I used pumpkin, Cashews, Green Peppers, Sweet Potato, Irish Potato, Bay Leaves, Cloves,
Pimiento, Coconut Milk, Garlic, Onions, Olive oil, Wheat free/Gluten free/low salt/brewed soya
sauce.

I have it but I haven't made up my mind about it. In fact I have some reservations about some of the recipes in it, and not because they are vegetarian, caw I frequently cook vegetarian meals misself. If yuh knows it, mek mi kno seh wha yuh tink. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

It looks like, that if I want a life, I'm going to HAVE to become a complete vegetarian...this also includes milk and cheese products...

I have been a sick puppy for quite a while suffering from terrible migraine headaches...I work from home because I never know when the headaches will strike and rarely make business appointments because 'just the stress' of having the appointment can trigger a migraine...

I have found a doctor who will work with me over the internet and give me hope if I sign a contract to the effect that I will consume no coffee, no caffeine, no alcohol, no sweets, no processed foods, no fast food, no meat, cheese, milk, eggs, fish, chicken, no white bread, white rice, junk food, etc.

...for the first month I have to go through a cleansing process and only eat 'heaven knows what' for a month, I'm told that it will be very bland...because after the month of detox, foods will then be reintroduced into my system to see if I have any type of negative reaction to the food that may be considered a food allergy precursor to the migraine.

It seems that the good doctor thinks that my poor diet is the primary cause of my migraines.

I can either 'play dead' and keep poking myself with needles giving myself Imitrex Injections to zap the migraines (which doesn't always work) or I can drastically change my diet and perhaps have my life back.

Why don't I feel happy? I guess it's the unknown...

Ital here I come... I just wish I could be like Oprah and have an Ital chef come in and prepare meals for me...

H E L P ! ! ! ...someone please tell me that I can do this...

...Yes Ms. Peaches sweetie, thank you so much...but there's more going on than just the migraines, thus the strict nutritional approach...but the Feverview sounds like an idea for some who only suffer the migraines...I know I've tried it but not for the length of time that was needed to do the trick probably...

I am sick of being sick and tired and I just know that the nutrition factor is playing a big part in my problems...so, I'm communicating by email with others who have completed this program and plan to go forward after I get a few more emails of support...

Never worry about protein. Eat a whole range of foods for that day. Plan on absorbing essential vitamins and minerals for the day rather than at each meal. Feed your child Three to four meal a day.

No pepper yet, no large chunks of nuts or grains. Make sure you have a meal that includes some corn meal and rice at least twice a week. If you use nuts to get protein content, make sure it is in puree or ground. First test to make sure the child is not allergic to peanuts....this could be fatal, however somtimes it is just the skin of the peanuts that can cause an allergic reaction, so I would go for blanched nuts... If you drink milk or eat cheese I would recommend organic milk broiled at home.


The usual standard baked, crushed, or pureed potato is very good. Add lots of Carrots to meals on days when you do not include Cornmeal, as carrots have a cleansing effect as well.

For young kids Steaming or Boiling foods is best. You must try all the green vegetables in different combinations, most kids will not want to bother with vegetables that look like vegetable so try to cut up the leaves short and fine, long and wavy or in different shapes or disguise them in batter(although this involves frying).

As you can tell I do not offer specific recipes, I merely offer ideas, because cooking is really specif to eat household and with little knowledge and lots of practise you can fine tune the ideas you harvest here to fit you family needs.

The major things that familes worry about in growning kids on a vegetarian diets is Calcium and Protein. This can be solved with going to the IVU website or similar sites and learning about plants and fruits that will diliver similar or comparable content to meat.


TeOoman drink a couple of PENTA water a day to replace your coffee. You will feel a lot better, trust me.....!!
