Bigtime, I'm looking a gardener. How you fixed? Right now my one-time turfed garden needs some serious tlc and mint has resurfaced in places so they'll have to go.

all now I haven't put the raspberry and blackberry plants in the earth. I'm a bit confused ~~ should they go into water first before planting in the soil? I'm searching the internet and keep coming across some that say plant in earth, and others say put in water for several days first. Right now, the plants are in the cooler part of the refridgerator.

I got me a Red Bud, Japanese Maple, Washingon Hawthorn, Flowering Crab, Dogwood and Rose of Sharon stalks to plant [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] The temperature here has cooled off to 40deg.F since yesterday and the wind blowing cold. I'm kinda reluctant to plant these now too ... mi not even know, this gardening work is getting a bit overwhelming for me.

Mi just want to see nice warm sunny weather, tired of the blooming cold and chill.

Ok, I just got the low down on planting blackberries and raspberry plants.

Put them in water overnight so that the bareroots does not dry out, then plant the next day. If the ground in your area is too wet or not yet thawed, keep the plants in a moist dark place until the earth is good for planting. Plant in a sunny location.

Just finished giving mine its first feed of the year. It needs all the help it gets with kids ramping on it and anyway we in the middle of a drought (it has'nt rained for 3 weeks). Does the job come with as much white rum, rice an peas I can eat???. In anycase you need to apply to " Er Indoors" [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

I am not G2 but callalo is a kind of vegetalbe that is somewhat close to Collard Green Americans would say but Callalo is not as coarse as collard green is.

This weekend I planted cucumber, zuchini, tomato, and sweet pepper. Any tips for these types of plants?

Flowers garden: I have never had much succes with a flowers garden, but this year I am going to give it a good try. So far I planted 3 hibiscus plants. They are doing well so far. But now I need some easy to maintain flowers to accompany the hibiscus. Any suggestions?

I'm not good with the vegetable gardening, but I want to give it another shot.

Easy to maintain plants for your area ~ Pepper, you're in south/s.west Florida eh? Give these a tropical plants a try.

Cannas ~ great growers, look for Florida Moonlight Cannas
Caladiums (great growers)
Lantana (great, great growers)
Jasmine
Foxglove
Hibiscus (great growers)

Pepper that garden sound wonderful, i hope the cucumber has a nice shady also morning sun. girl mek a nice harbor for it.

I already have Hibiscus, an I planned on planting Caladiums around the side of the house. That section is more shady and I think they are suppose to do well in partial sun.

I will bring this list to the nursey and see what I can find.

G2, luckily I planted the cucumber in a spot that gets the morning sun and the evening shade.

Does anyone know anything about the broad leaf thyme? I saw some earlier today, but I don't know how to use it? What kind of flavor does it have?

My neighbor has them in her herb garden, and they do well in our type of soil. But I don't know what I would do with it if I grew it.

yes Pepper mi plant dem,an use it in everyting,even sent some home wid QK now she have a nice pot of it.

the flavour is not as strong as the fine leaf so yu can use more of it

Pepper, more tropical plants for you ...

Heliconia (they have different varieties of heliconias but the one that sticks in mind is the "Ginger Heliconia", always see them in Jamaica)
