well like jah yute moas ppl nuh kno seh dem a guh ras till dem reach a certain time inna dem life. Most guh chroo life not knowing dat dem a guh go down de path of Rasta and all of a sudden dem hear a word an boom tings stawt ferment.

when you examine transcendental, internalized, and intuitive spiritual systems, you often find that some form of tribulation, some spark, is necessary to start feet on the path. sometimes this is forced, sometimes it happens naturally in the course of life.

what I find fascinating is that you can look and see how rastafari develop their path from early on, like you can not see back into the day of Yashua setting forth his path, we can only guess at and take note of and corroborate to see what got muddled and how and why.

Jah Youth, my question is in regards to some of the archetypal questions which all mythologies deal with- and I don't mean mythology negatively- so as to wonder about the afterlife in your faith?

yes dahjah I can sey dat because I was searching for the answers to my questions. <span style="font-weight: bold">These questions came about because of how I think, how I feel and my views on life. </span> The answers that make more sense to my questions were the ones from Rasta Livity.

let's say that is probably the biggest difference in my faith & others...
i don't purport to know what the afterlife holds, but i don't buy into the heaven in the sky after you die philosophy...
rasta culture deals mainly with this life in this time....as opposed to a mythical world after you die...
for rasta heaven and hell are in this world in this time...
you will be judged for this life, whatever awaits afterwards

I too feel the standard conception is...a little obvious and immature shall we say.

this also affirms something for which I have a lot of raspect for the elders I know and have reasoned with- right life is a worthy pursuit of it's own accord and a necessary component of spiritual advancement.

have you ever heard the zen story of nobushige?

it's really true...
i remember this rasta woman used to live on my block in duhaney park when i was about 7 or 8 years old...
no lie:
everytime she used to pass my house the song 'africa we want to go' by dennis brown used to come to my mind- i don't know why...but i was very intrigued by her...the way she looked and carried herself- it was so different- no short skirts or hmm-hmm shorts or tingdeh rider or haltar top, etc.....
head covered, long skirts and a dignified gait...
she sparked something in me that was inside...
before that my uncle used to take me into the hills to check his rasta bredrins and they would cook, smoke, eat, reason, play ball...
this was when i was about 5 up to like 7 years old (before he got shot inna political wars)...they were totally different to me...
different things like that that you couldn't express at the time but later on you saw why...

i like to learn from all cultures...
i've seen very good bhuddist stories/allegories as well
