Hey Regae Plus! I'm so sorry about your dad.
Sometimes it's hard to accept the fact that this is all apart of the circle of life. The world has to keep spinning, time goes by and life goes on. Don't lose hope R+ because if the Lord is calling your father home there's nothing for you to be afraid of. Just keep in mind that one day you'll meet him at the crossroads.
You should consider yourself lucky...at least you have a father who cares about you

3 years ago, doctors said that my dad was about to die: he still grows his flowers in the garden and plays "running around" with the dog!!!!

R+...damn it! I have had such a frustrating time the past few days getting on the board. The last time I was able to access was Friday. You have been on my mind since your first post re: Dad. So, you can imagine how much reading I did this morning to catch up. With all you are going though, it is so generous of you to take the time to keep us up on what is happening. I hope you get a lot of strength from the responses. This is what this board should be all about anyway. Sometimes we go off on such negative tangents...well, you know. Thanks to you for bringing us back to the reality of life...even when you are dealing with some of our biggest fears...sickness or potentially loosing those we love. Today...you are my hero. I will find my own stength to deal with my personal 'dramas' (yes, I do have them) thorough remembering your positivity in dealing with yours. I am so glad to hear your Dad is on the road to recovery. It will be a road...but you have the heart to get through it. Much love to you and yours!!! Mich

R+, I just came on the seen and heard what is going on... Plus baby..it seems as if you are the one we will have to give the strength of our friendship, because your father sounds like a strong and determined, as you put it "old goat". He has lived for 86 years - can you imagine the things he saw, tasted, lived - experienced? He has lived a full life despite all that is going on in his life. He may be old, but he is much stronger than you give him credit for - Rest assured that there is no news that you can tell him to topple his resolve. His strength is learned, and that which is learned cannot be taken away.

Plus, I feel for you. When my maternal grandmother died at 96 years old (1998)it was the worst thing that could have happened to me. But after mi go ah di funeral go disgrace meself... I picked up what little dignity I had left and "life goes on" - because granny will always be a part of it.

Just keep strong and remember that even though the sands of time are running - What no dead, noh dash way... An "Puppah ah ashes, bettah dan puppah a dirt". Your father will be ok and as long as you have us you will be ok...

I'm very glad to hear things are looking good. I agree with all the post I've read about about giving your Dad a hug, telling him how much you love him, and just providing him with emmotional support. Hang in there.
