EDIT. I don't resent blacks from the Caribbean, and I never will! The day I resent black Caribbeans is when they forget their island culture and become an American.

I don't get along with black American teenagers period. That's fine! I get along more with black American adults, and I respect them very much. Can't name one black American kid in my school or in my neighbourhood that's not racist or disrespects me. And that's all it comes down to, respect.

The black American teens had a chance to accept me when we were in kindergarden, they screwed it up and made me the little coolie left out! Then they had another chance EVERY year in elementary school, and midddle school, but they screwed it up because I spoke like a white kid and I was a proud Hindu. They had another chance in 8th grade, but no, I only like to hang out with Caribbean, Hispanic, and Asians kids, so that was their excuse of not trying to get to know me better.

It seemed like everything I was, they didn't like: East Indian, Jamaican, Hindu instead of being black, American, Christian. And I couldn't ever understand ebonics, and still today, I speak properly and I won't change it for any ignorant children that don't know how to accept people of different cultures.

Plus, the black American teens in my school want light skin and straight hair and light eyes. Look at that insecurity of who they are? All I know is I am Jamaican, and a proud one of that, and I wouldn't change that for $1 billion dollars!

And to the rest of you...why the hell should I think about wot you said? I've had to go through a lot of bull from many people about who I am, and learn the negatives about my people, why is it that you can't accept the fact that people can't get along with black Americans? Is there something wrong with that? If you all can judge me and sit here and call me and my people names, yet you don't want to hear anything about the bad character of BLACK AMERICAN TEENS (let me FORCE this and make it clear) which is unacceptable, then I guess I don't have to put up with this.

You guys aren't even opening your eyes, your putting all the emotions and racism first before even reading my posts. It's like I'm the ONLY person that's wrong. Look at some of these kids my age, then you'll know where the fault lies. And I know their parents didn't raise them like this.

And also for all the angry blacks that have responded to me: Are blacks the only one that go through pain? Why is it that you act like everyone is out to get you, and why do you feel that your'e ethnic group is the only one suffering? I suggest you go to other islands and countries and check out who is being hostile to whom!

JaIndian, please! Resorting to name calling isn't the answer. I'm sure this issue can be debated with decorum and respect. There's no need to go to the gutters with this. I understand it's a very touchy subject but it can be handled better. I also remind you of the forum rules.

If you were questioning what I posted, I was referring a article he wrote on a indian site. He had a link to his article in his signature a while back.

I read it and it was very offensive and his whole tone was one of resentment for black jamaicans and west indians period.

I remember clearly his resentful tone when he states such things as :

paraphrasing:

"but it seems blacks will always be the majority in Jamaica"

"Blacks attack Indians in the caribbean and supress indian cultural expression"

etc.

The guy have alot of "issues"! and resentment and hate!

Thank you for saying that cause it is sad. JaIndian is a 14 year old KID...he's at a time in his life where he should be having fun and not stressing out so much. If he is this full of hate and stress at 14 what kind of adult will he grow up to be. At times I am amazed that he is only 14. He is very wise and full of knowledge...I would just LOVE to see him ease up and have some fun on this board...we know its there...we all have a part in it everyday.

Principles and practices are two different things. The caste system is originally intended that people do not marry into their own blood lines. And it is quite noticeably that indians are less mutated than The West with their anything goes. There are lots of tribes in India and they all have their various rules to the system.
You could also look at the increase in Indians as resulting in them being a mixed race. They are comprised of all races and not a race by themselves.

Sukuna Racism, sometime, occurs when practices create or exploit immoral differences between races even though the act was not intended to create this effect. The intended policy implication of the caste system to prevent people from marrying into their own blood line might seem like a practical policy. However, the unintended and unprincipled policy implication was that the caste system created two society where some people were superior and the others were inferior. Although I would agree with you that mixture of ethnic groups lead to a more diverse and stronger gentic pool, there are many other factors that can be used to explain the West declining birth rate.

JaIndian06 I apoligized for my faux pas in reffering to you as a she. I should not have assume and I should have written in a more gender neutral manner. You reminded me why I hated high school and the difficult transition Caribbean children face when adjusting to new educational enviorments in different countries. It common for people from the same island to stick together because of the feeling of familarity. I also got tease about the way I spoke but I learned to give it right back. Do you feel you are smarter than most Black American? I know I did because I got better grade than most of the people in the school without trying. Ask yourself how are you coming across to the other students because if you come across to other students like you come across in your postings that might be the source of your conflicts in school and why you are having difficulty developing friendship with black Americans. You are at a stage in your emotional development when your are starting to develop your indentity and this is when many teenagers feel like the the world is staring at them. Try to remember that most Caribbean and American children are also going through this process of trying to fit in. I can tell you that as you and the other students mature school more enjoyable. You are smart enough to understand that not all Caribbean people are good and you should also realized that not all black Americans are bad. I agree with you that there are cultural differences between blacks from the Caribbean and America. Still, do not let that prevent you from developing friendships with different people from different cultures or you will miss out. I hope that help you because I remember what I went through when I first came to this country.

I'm clearly being misunderstood. I'm not full of hate, that is just the way it's been coming out. I've been discussing my problems. And the root of my problems in this country have ended coming down to race and nationality. I get discriminated because of my nationality.

It's people like you that make me resent others. How the heck do I resent black Jamaicans when I am a Jamaican myself. These are the people I love, these are the people I respect. You don't know anything about my history.

I knew you all would say such things to me. I thought I had a right to be proud of myself, and have the freedom to talk about East Indians/Indian culture. When most of you talk about so many black things, which are mostly black American related, I don't say anything. Plus, Indian culture and the Caribbean have a closer bond than do black American culture to the Caribbean. I don't always consider myself East Indian, I consider myself Kishi, then a Jamaican.
I don't see how I'm wrong in calling myself an East Indian or Indo-Caribbean. When I hear Jamaicans calling themselves black or ****** , I just hold my head down in shame and say nothing. We are all Jamaican. Wot gives you all the right to call yourselves black, and I'm not allowed to call myself East Indian? Maybe it's because I'm a minority here, by age and by race. But not by nationality, so why are you all causing so much more problems.

I am a very relaxed person. I too can relax. I don't just talk about this all the time, but, these racial issues are the only interesting thing here for me to discuss. I'm very mature when it comes to discussion. I don't want to have to be categorised with other teenage kids that only care about Eminem's new song or wot was the last movie I saw, I'm above that.

I am a good person, and don't worry about how I'll be when I get older. As the days go by, I become a better person.

I've realised my mistakes, now it's your turn, even though I doubt any of you would be brave enough to admit to screw ups.

I didn't come here to make friends, I just came here as a Jamaican. That's all.

Dont mix the terminologies. The caste system is within the race and does not focus primarily on hindering interaction with other races. It is for the good* of the said ethnic group.
I never mentioned the declining birth rate in the west, I was refering to their genetical deformaties as a result of inbreeding.
It is all about the division of labour, we are all not alike and should have our appropriate place in soceity. Inferiority was not the main intention in my opinion, probably the only way of abstinence is to demonize as usual. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
Note that is would be normally reasonable to marry another race because they are not of the same blood line, so I don't see the racism. (except when those of one caste can only one particular caste).
Time have changed, 400yrs ago our parents were doing the same thing and a few years a back we did too. Nothing is wrong with preservation, nature exalts it - we are here to preserve.
The racism we experience can not be compared to any caste or class system.
