tek time britisha, i don't think ivory was being callous. and i agree with the point she was trying to make,it is NOT a "Canadian" thing. I've talked about interracial couples (black women white men) in churches before, that I have seen. but of course, there are people who would say "If *I* haven't seen it, it doesn't exist."

Britisha, what I am saying, there is a tendency for people who are not experiencing success in certain areas that push certain views on others that are supposed to be their perception of facts. When in reality it is not a fact. If our minds are closed then we will only see what we choose to believe we see.

I am in no way calling you callous. I was responding to your comment that it must be a Canadian thing, based on what you are reading in this post.

I wish people would realize that one of the best things about society is we have choice. The men that choose the women they date have made their choice. Same as the women that choose the men they want to date.

Now I know nothing about Apostolic or Church of God and I have not attended many functions at Pentecostal churches but, trus t me, I will make the rounds at those churches and visit Compry's church yet again and report back what I find.

With that qualification, I have noticed something very interesting about this thread. In this thread we have boardites who, by their own admission, are not Christians and rarely attend church saying that there is no problem in the churches with respect to racism or discrimination against Black women. I go to church and church related events every week many times a week. I have attend functions all over the GTA. One would think that perhaps...perhaps... I may have a slightly more accurate read on what is going on in the churches in this area than someone who rarely attends church. How can one speak with authority about places they never or rarely attend? You would also think that I would also have a more accurate read than someone who only attends one church and never attends Christian singles events. How could someone comment on what is going on or how Black women are treated if they never attend?

You will notice that I have stated up front that I am not an expert on Pentecostal churches. This is depsite the fact that I have attended:

- a few services at Stone Church
- 1 service at Evangel
- 1 service at Islington Evangel
- 1 service at Queensway
- 2 services at Agincourt Pentecostal
- 1 service at Markham Pentecostal
- a number of church related events at Stone Chruch and Queensway
- 1 chuch related event at Scarboro Gospel
- 1 church related event at Compry's church
- plus about 6 services at Point Grey in Vancouver (a wonderful church)

Whoo!! The list is longer than even I had realized. I would bet that EVEN this adds up to more attendance than the non-Christians in this thread who have spoken out with such authority on what is or is not going on in the churches in the area.

That's like me saying I, who have only attended one Blue Jays baseball game in my life, am more of an expert on baseball than someone who has been a season ticket holder for years. Somehow, I don't think so.

Yet, I am clear about the fact that I am not an expert on Pentecostal churches.

If that is where I have to go to meet Black Christian men then that is what I have to do but let me tell you it will be a HUGE adjustment for me and WAY outside my zone of comfort. I am just not used to or comfortable with that style of worship.
