Alright, I was also born in Jamaica and I've been in Canada for more than two thirds of my life. I've lived in Richmond Hill and North York and I know that if you desire to meet a Jamaican christian your chances are going to be a lot higher if you go to the black churches.

This is your opinion to which you are entitled. When smadi ride your post, and NOT tek di time to digest what has been said, and talk about "blinders" the only conclusion that can be drawn is dat mi in a fog or sinting like dat and so can't see her "reality." "Blinders" imply the inability to see. Re read my post. I stated that *I* have not seen the Hollywood potrayed type women married to black men in the churches that *I* have attended. I even stated that *I* have only seen couples of the same race/ethnicity; and *I* have visited quite a few churches.

*I* also never stated that the problem never existed here there or anywhere. *I* simply stated that this was news to me and perhaps, could it be something that is seen [only] in Canada; in terms of the how Tropicana described, and continue to describe it.. Interracial couples exist everywhere...however...however, Tropicana is speaking of "within the church building"...if I understood her correcctly. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. If smaddi wishes to interject that they have seen this in churches in Mississippi or Philadelphia even Bahrain, or wherever, then go ahead and say so, but leave out the subtle insults.

I am assuming that what Tropicana stated is based on her visual observation in terms of the interracial couples...an observation that can be seen by others as well. Now the reasons that she stated why these ppl do what they do, unless she did a study or interviewed a significant amount of those involved and come up with hard data, I cannot comment on. Are you saying that her observations are not factual, or that she is mistaking her church members ethnicity simply based on her "perception"...whaddeva dat could mean here?

Puhleeze; as Tropicana implied, to me, it is amazing that some who never visited a church are so knowledgeable of what goes on there.

Well said Britisha. Given the number of churches, church conferences, Christian singles events and church related activities I have attended in the GTA, I think that I am MUCH more qualified to give an informed opinion of what is going on than people who, BY THEIR OWN ADMISSION, are:

- not Christians and rarely go to church OR
- Christians but have only gone to one or two churches and have rarely or NEVER been to Christian singles functions

I am talking about what is going on in evangelical churches. I have excluded:

- Pentecostal churches (with which I have little knowledge...however I point out more than the non-Christians who are posing as EXPERTS that's for sure)
- Church of God (I briefly attend part of 1 convention at a sabbath keeping church in Ocho Rios)
- Apostolic Churches (I have never attended an Apostoic Church in my life.)

I make it a point to comment on what I know for sure by experience and through EXTENSIVE reading. I refrain from making comments about things of which I have no knowledge and I don't put myself forth as an expert and contradict people who have the experience that I lack in particular areas and w.r.t. particular subjects. PERIOD!!

Do you know how often I go to Church? Nope. You wouldn't know. I have never once announced to this person how often I may or may not go. And are you not in a interacial marriage? The same thing the person you seem to always support bashes? Get a life girl!

I am a part of an Apostolic congregation within Toronto. Predominately Jamaican, with lots of single men and women who do date. I do not witness the filth this girl keeps spewing all over this board.
