My thoughts exactly!Everybody says relax it"s just a joke,I see nothing funny about seeing anybody HUNG!The joke reflects back to the black man!Having some of our ancestors being treated that way just because of the simple fact that his skin was black,this whole business of this so called joke being funny goes beyond its limit!I guess Martin Luther King and Malcom X being shot is way up on your list of being funny too!

What the man wanted from the Genies was to be "hung" like a black man... not HANGED or Lynched.

The "dumb blonde" genies didn't quite get it and instead they had him lynched, hanged, or hung.
The humor is not the hanging itself. It's the confusion or miscommunication.

You are being wayyyy too analytical here. When Greaseman made a joke years ago on DC101 when MLK birthay was introduced as a national holiday and some states said "heck no, we are not celebrating his day as a holiday. Greaseman made a joke about about killing off more black people to get more days off -- dat was NOT funny.

When Jimmy the Greek said "u know why football players so big, it started from the slave days when dem put di big black women wid di big black men and u get big black babies......"

These are jokes that were NOT funny, they were a direct attack on black folks. This was a joke about miscommunication and back then if you looked wrong, walked wrong or smile wrong u could be swinging....

I'm Jewish.. I saw it.. didnt think it was funny.. but I did not get upset..

I went back and read the original joke and didnt find it as offensive as I did on the first take..

I agree with what babydoll just said.. this was just a twist in words.. it was not an outright attack on someone...and in hindsight.. kind of funny...

While I appreciate Most ethnic jokes.. there are certain gray areas.. Some jokes help to perpetuate stereotypes.. those are the ones that really irk me because they really hide the true racist sentiments one thinks...

BUT .. None of these fit that category at all..

Normally, I don't get into discussions on racism for this very reason. I am not a racist nor a bigot.

I never said those who find the joke offensive have no right to their feelings.
I'd just like them to see where we find the humor of this particular joke.
