Funnily enough, for years I'd exercise til I was in pain, or if I had a cold. Now that I've damaged my shoulder and my back is playing up I've finally realised that the body will retire if I don't look after it [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif[/img] CB, take good care of yours.

Iluv [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/notworthy.gif[/img], I managed to do 3.5 miles this morning and that nearly killed me! Very sluggish as I'd eaten too much crap over the weekend, but will put that right from today [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70384-praying.gif[/img]

Didnt run today.
Went on a long bike ride. I think I might have seen 7 cars total on this ride. It was beautiful. Just me the road...and well the other riders in the group.
Came back in and then Pilates. I get to cut back starting today. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70371-jump.gif[/img] I have the Governors Run next Sunday, that is the last running trial for me and it is for charity too. Then di current mr. ilp and I head to NY to scope out the triat course live and in person the following weekend. We are going to stay in NYC and see Lion King while we are up there.

Did 7 miles. I had some energy to burn.
The run felt good.

I am going to go out again in the morning and then rest Saturday. I have the Govenor's Run on Sunday

Not too energetic this week on the running front

Did 4 miles on Wednesday lunchtime and hayfever nearly killed me afterwards [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img]. Thursday evening recovered enough to do hills with the running club. I managed three, which I thought was good considering I had to run with my belongings as Coach wasn't there [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/discosmilie.gif[/img] Legs were painful on Friday but did Pilates at lunchtime so that was a nice way to end the week. Ain't doing a thing til Tuesday as it's a Bank Holiday weekend so I'm off to hang out with a girlfriend and labrish, drink and do some gardening [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/popcorn.gif[/img]

Race Results

Got up this morning. di current mr ilp ahn i drove to the meeting place, so that the bus could take us over the Bay Bridge to MD's Eastern Shore. When we arrive, runners were eating bagels, taking in Goo. Water, banana peels and orange rinds abound. Stop watches and clip boards are being dropped.

We get over the bridge...were a police officer from the MD Transportation Authority boards and says, "Runners, sorry, but wind conditions on the bridge are too high for us to allow foot traffic across. The Governor's Run has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled." [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70456-eyebrows.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bannana_purple.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70400-talktohand.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70361-embarassed.gif[/img]

So everyone is looking at our coach like, "what do we do? The coach gets off the bus and has a conversation with the police officer. They are pointing and making hand gestures. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70402-thinking.gif[/img] Then coach gets back on the bus and says, "Many of you have races coming up with in a few weeks and not running today would be a shame. The officer said Kent Narrows is lovely this morning and I use to live around here...so we are going to burn those carbs you loaded yesterday". [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70371-jump.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif[/img]

Fast forward....
15K or 9.6 miles later...ILP is now back in the house. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bannana_purple.gif[/img] My pace was a bit fast (I think), maybe it was the coffee I drank before I boarded the bus [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img]
A little windy, but what a lovely, lovely run. Can I just say I [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70377-loveeyes.gif[/img] MD's Eastern Shore! Anyway, I will be resting the legs for the rest of the day. At least you get a run in for the day, sans the cancellation of the Governor's Run. It sound like Kent Narrows offered a nicer view for the run nuh? Mi can imagine the feelings that ran through you when the cancellation was announced.

Not much running this week...only did a 5k run Friday. I fractured my toes during martial arts class and it is still pretty painful. Plus, the amount of gardening work I've been doing this week.... Oh, mi tek 3 weeks off work...husband did a total knee replacement, so I'm being nurse and seized the opportunity to get a lot of home and gardening stuff done as well. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif[/img]

I have decided to ease back on the running until I have done a complete physical...I run in my gym at work and next ting yuh know mi guh drap dung dead and dem haffi call mi bass fi come scrape mi up offa the floor [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif[/img]

plus I am havinng some allergy/breathing problems suh will check that out first

even though when I do run I am not short of breath or anything [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70402-thinking.gif[/img] just trying to be careful
