In the Bible it say's that this person had 700+ wives, now we are hearing how manying wives a man has in Iraq and other places including Africa, and we here are told to have only one!

Now all these places are religous - right!

So, now I can't blame the Pastor's when they say it's a man made law to have one wife! No wonder they have so many!

LALA, when I was back home I know of 4 women who had 3 and 4 husbands (married), and is only one man I know came out with it that he has many wives all living together in one house, and there was nothing anyone could do, until one of the wives seek a divorce, which wasn't going to happen because of signed agreements.

the first one could be very expensive person and not "a sole person".

How much land space, housing?
How much food?
How much clothing/shoes etc?
How much jewelry?
How much medical?
How much transport?
How much for education?
How much furnishings?
How much telephones?

So what exactly is the question, it does indeed say he had 700 wives, isn't there something that says two people are married after having 'intimate' relations though? That's what I'm thinking might explain the great number. Although, if he had 700 wives, keep in mind this was King Solomon, he was quite wealthy! So I'm sure he could afford to keep 700 wives happy. I have a feeling Bill Gates could afford it too!

So because he was king and could afford these wives, means he should have them? What about leading by example? What are his people and those who read of this story to reasonably think?

I doubt that he had 700 wives. I figure, the Jews probably misrepesented the amounts by not trully understanding the use of numbers. Physically it is highly improbable to maintain 700 wives. Financially is another story. But I dont think he had 700 wives literally.

The other verse say" The bishops must have one wife" The third verse say" Anyone who want to use the ofice of a bishop or deacons must ahve one wife"
