Iches: its not that the Greek Scriptures changes the Hebrew Scriptures, Jesus just brought back into line what was there originally. when we were created it was one man, one woman. it was through the behaviour of man that polygamy started to be practiced. that was not the original intention from the beginning. as regards other religions who use the Bible as a source for their belief in God and still practice polygamy, the only think i can really say is that like a lot of people today, they are hyocrites to what is written. they are taking what suits their purpose and discarding what dosn't. Jesus himself called the scribes and pharisees hypocrites because outwardly they appeared righeous but inside they were full of lawlessness and hypocrisy (Mathew 23:27, 28).

There's a conflict here, because the NT is saying 1 and the OT is saying "many". Could it be that they only accept the OT?

If you are talking about a 'Christian' religion, they cannot dismiss what is written in the Greek Scriptures. Jesus states at Mathew 19:5, 6: "For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and will stick with his wife (singular), and the two (not three, four or five) will become one flesh. So that they are no longer two but one flesh". If someone states they are a 'Christian' they should not dismiss the teachings of the Greek Scriptures, however, a lot of what is written is dismissed as not being applicable in the modern world. Now if people are not Christians and only refer to the Hebrew Scriptures for their teaching, this raises questions that go beyond what we are discussing.

The Arabs has many!
The Africans Has many (some)
The Mormons believe in this pratice.

I am referring here to those 'Christians' who live in todays society but still adhere to the practices of the Hebrew Scriptures. As for the Arabs, these are for the majority Muslims, who adhere to the teachings of the Quran, which permits polygamy providing a husband can have a number of wives providing they are all treated equally. The Africans, again could be Muslims or may be folowing their traditional religions. but as I know very little of the beliefs I cannot comment whether polygamy would be an intrinsic part of traditional African religions. The Mormons, although professing to be 'Christians', their main source of guidance comes from 'The Book of Mormons' which is believed to be another testament of Jesus. They believe that the angel Moroni appeared to Joseph Smith in 1823 and told him that there was an ancient record of some of the inhabitants of the Americas that had been preserved on golden plates. However, even amongst this practice, polygamy has now been ruled illegal, although some still practice it. These groups do not hold with the teachings of the Greek Scriptures, either in part or as a whole.

iches: i don't know where they will planning on going, i only know i am not going to heaven. i have no wish to live in heaven, but again that's another issue

So, he wasn't so smart at all when it came to women, cause he should have known that his actions would have caused him problems.
