Another tough question! My reaction would definitely not be one of condemnation, and naturally I would be surprised. However, I would want to find out why so we would have a good chat about what led him to that point, his doubts, and so on. I would think it very important to understand what was going on in his head, so it would be a series of discussions during which time I would share with him my reasons for believing, while trying to understand his thoughts.

I would not make him feel guilty nor that he was doing something wrong, but reinforce my unconditional love for him. Needless to say, I would be in much prayer for him and for as long as he was willing, have ongoing discussions about the situation. I do believe that children have to make their own path, and sometimes they do lose their way before they find it. The story of the Prodigal Son comes readily to mind. Like I tell my boys, no matter where they go or what they do, they can never outrun my prayers. With that in mind and until my last breath, I would always believe God for my child's return.

A friend of mine was an active participant in this very forum, and she would forward me some of the really funny stuff and insist I read them.

Which living person do you admire/respect most and why?

Hands down, my mother and there are not enough words for me to tell you why. Suffice it to say that growing up during the difficult teen years, she taught me the most valuable lesson I could ever learn: "If you are going to trust God, trust Him all the way.", and it is a lesson that is a very big part of my life today. Being her first born, there is an indescribable bond between us. She insists she knew that God had blessed her with a special child, and made sure to guide and instruct me in the ways of the Lord from as far back as I can remember.

In my early years, this is a lady who always seem to make something out of nothing. She always put her children first, encouraged me in just every which way possible, raised me to be a gentleman, and she so shaped my life that I really do not know how to live it any differently. To this day she tells people I have never spoken back to her, never complained when there was not enough, that he was always singing or reading his Bible, and how proud she is of her son and who he turned out to be. How could I not love her? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Believe it or not she still spoils me when we are in the same space, but I absolutely love, admire, and respect this woman the most.
