I am told quite often that I look like Charlotte from sex and the city, Shania Twain, and just about anyone with long brown hair... it is just the hair I think.

That day on the beach I felt awful...I guess cause I know myself I can look at that picture and see the tired heavy feeling my eyes had all day long. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

BigRed is definitely feeling the love around here and starting to understand why I spend so much time on Jamaicans.com...

ring...ring...ring...

The phone is ringing and noone is answering. This alone was enough of a reason to make me want to cry all over again. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] I was feeling awful and while I knew I couldn't do anything about it right then and there, I wanted to know that first thing in the morning I had a place to go. I needed the comfort of having the my morning planned out.

BigRed looks at me as I leave Forty the most pitiful message ever. I hadn't said very much during this whole not-being-able-to-breath episode and when I opened my mouth to leave the message it almost startled me. I asked Forty to call my cell phone when he go this message, I told him I was sick and needed a doctor and I can not remember if anything else was said. I had to stop talking, the squeakiness and congestion in my voice and throat was scaring me. I hung up the phone and tried to get comfortable and I fell asleep sitting straight up.

DAY 5- Saturday Morning

At 8 a.m. exactly I am wide awake, only to find Big Red up and showered. I don't think he slept at all that night. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] I feel terrible still and now my eyes are practically swollen shut from all the crying I had done the night before. I was not happy with the way things were turning out during my vacation. I had this picture in my head that Mrs. Red was going to think I was some malnourished (cause I hardly ate a thing in her prescence), sickly, skinny, girl that her son had brought from the States...

I ask Big Red if he knows where to go and he tells me he is just planning on asking at the front desk. I decide to turn my phone on and see if Forty had called during the night. I roll over and grab my cell phone and see that I had left in on all night, not only was my battery almost dead, Forty had not yet gotten my message and returned my call.

With what little juice my cell phone had left I call T-small and she answers before the third ring. "Good Morning BoundBrook!" [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] she says, and I reply with a cough that came from the ground under me. I tell her I need a doctor and I prompty put her on the phone with Big Red so he can get the directions from her.

Then my cell phone died... I am not sure if Big Red got to say goodbye or not, I apologize to T-small if the phone just hung up on her.

T-small had said there was a Dr.'s office just past the round about in Negril, the office opened at nine a.m. and the doctor was usuallt there by 10. She said we should get there early as it is first come first serve. That was no problem, I showered and we were at the doctors office by nine a.m.

Me coughing in front of the doc office, waiting for it to open.

We stand out front until 10 a.m. waiting for someone to come and open the office. We took a few pictures while we were standing there waiting...

From the second story balcony where the doctors office was.

Finally someone comes and unlocks the door and lets myself, Big Red, and one other person who was waiting outside, in the office. We take our seats and Big Red goes to the desk to register me with the Dr.'s assistant.

Big Red and I are sitting in the waiting room and watching the time just tick by from the wall clock. Big Red wanted nothing more than to lay on the beach all day and get some sun, he is more of a sun worshiper than I am, and I felt terrible that it was 11 o'clock and we were sitting in a builiding. This was our last full day in Negril, tomorrow we were heading back to Kingston and had to be checked out of the hotel by noon. I wanted to make this visit as quick as possible and get back to the hotel so Big Red could get some sun. I also just wanted to feel better and I knew if I could just get a perscription in my hand I would feel better. Something about knowing I had medicine and knowing that I would feel better...

By noon the doctor still is not there and the Dr.'s assistant tells us he has just called, he is coming from MoBay and is as far as Lucea. We still had 45 minutes to wait and I was feeling worse by the minute. I hadn't taken any Tylenol sinus or cough medicine b/c I had overdone it the day before...

Big Red goes to the desk and tells the assistant that we are going to go wait in the car. The office is air conditioned and freezing and it is filling up by the minute. I wanted to sleep so badly that I was draped over Big Red's lap in the waiting room. Big Red takes me to the car and sets me up in the passenger seat, I am quickly asleep.

[img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] Oh ((BB)) [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] You should have gone to the clinic, opens at 9 or 10 and from what I can tell they are always there at 10, 2 doctors so it seems one of them usually makes it in. (not that any of this helps you now). dang I should have given you my number even though I'm all the way in Canada I got pretty familiar with the Negril clinic and what meds the pharmacies had)

Day 5 continued-- Saturday afternoon

I felt like I was asleep for a mere five minutes when Big Red wakes me up and says he thinks the doctor is finally there. We make our way inside the office and the doctor is right behind us. The Dr. is a short man with a very kind face. He turns to his full waiting room and apologizes for being so late. He explained to the waiting room that he is not the normal doctor that works there and he is filling in for the regular Dr. that worked in that office. Fine, I say to myself, just take me back behind that closed door and fix me. (Dirty minded people get your head out of the gutter please. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] )

A few minutes later I am sitting next to where the doctor is seated at his desk explaining my symptoms to him. I watch him write all the things I say down and he asks me all the right questions. I tell him I think it is Bronchitis and that my docotor usually perscribes me an inhaler and the antibiotic Zythromax. He agrees with me that it doesn't sound like a viral infection and ask if he can take me in the other room to examine me.

Big Red is sitting in the office with me looking out the window. I know that he wanted to be on the beach so badly and here we were at 1:30 in the afternoon still inside. Neither one of us had a thing to eat so far and we both were starving. I catch Big Red's eye as I leave to go in the examination room and I give him a small smile. I am already feeling better just being in the doctors care. I was so thankful I had Big Red there with me, waiting it all out.

Before we go into the examination room the doctor ask me my date of birth, I quickly reply 12/20/77, he gives me a strange look and I realize that dates are written differently in Jamaica. I say out loud, "Oops, that's right, you guys do it backwards here..." I smile at my mistake and catch Big Red's eye again. He mouths to me "NOT BACKWARDS JUST DIFFERENT" and I am embarrased for having said that Jamaica was backwards. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

A few minutes later I am being examined by the doctor, who was a gentle as could be. He listened to my lungs and was very very cautious in the way he touched me. I don't know if tourist make a stink about being manhandled by the doctors in Jamaica, but this guy was so cautious I almost told him to just get on with it and examine me! I just wanted to feel better and get some medicine.

By 2 we were leaving the doctors office and headed towards the pharmacy. Fortunatley, the pharmacy is right across the street and we are in and out of there in no time. I had my antibiotics and my asthma inhaler. All was looking good.

I hugged Big Red and thanked him for being so patient. He told me to hush, that what else would he have been... he just wanted me to feel better also. We decide to stop at Juicy patty on the way back to the hotel so that we could finally get some lunch. I swallowed my first round of antibiotics and ate two beef patties. It was wonderful.

I had warned Big Red that this particular antibiotic upsets my stomach, so he should be prepared since we were sharing a hotel room [img]/forums/images/graemlins/704555_dwl.gif[/img] ... he just smiled at me and seemed happy that our relationship had grown so much during this visit.

By 3 he is on the beach and I join him for a few minutes. I thought I would be able to take it but I was just to exhausted, I leave him on the beach and go inside to sleep. I was so happy to have some antibiotics and I looked forward to feeling better.

Later that night, after Big Red spent all day on the beach and I slept, we decide to walk the beach one more time. It is dark out and all the hotels along the beach have their Christmas lights up and their bars decorated. It was nice. I loved walking the beach with Big Red and felt so lucky to have someone as caring as he is in my life. He was taking such good care of me.

Day 6- Sunday morning

It is 7 a.m. and I open my eyes and rub the sleep from them. I am a new woman!

One round of antibiotics from the day before and I am feeling SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better. I hop out of bed, pounce on Big Red (who happens to still be asleep) and tell him he has to get up, we have to get on the beach! We only have until noon and I NEED SOME SUN! "Wake-up, wake-up, wake-up", I say. Big Red just smiles at me happy I am feeling better and warns me to take it easy.

TAKE IT EASY!?!?!?, I think to myslef...I turn to Big Red and say "I feel a zillion trillion times better and we had better take full advantage of it"... [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70365-flirt.gif[/img]

There"s nothing better than being with your true love in a romantic place! You are right this last trip with my husband was the best.I didn"t like the cat calls when I went on my first trip, after awhile it gets pretty stale. When you can"t even walk 2 steps without some body saying something.The women seemed to open up more too no

I got to talk to lots of women this trip and I loved every minute of it.

I think you look like Charolette from sex in the city not Shania! If you wrinkle your nose like she does when she"s embarrassed you would be her twin. Yep Charolette
