Sunday night/Early Monday morning
Big Red climbs in the bed and wakes me up as he pulls me next to him. I am suddenly aware that it is late and I have been asleep for much longer than what I had planned. I feel awful as soon as I put it all together. I had missed Brad's visit entirely and I had gone to bed without saying goodnight to a single solitary person. How incredibly rude can a guest get?
I roll over and face Big Red and tell him I am an idiot. I can't believe I had gone to bed and not said good night to anyone. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img] He tells me to hush and nevermind... everyone knew I wasn't feeling well and in fact his mother had come in and looked in on me once or twice while I was asleep. She was not offended in the least. I heard what he was saying to me, but I still felt awful. I tell myself I will be sure to get up early, in fact I set the alarm. I fall back asleep wrapped in Big Red's arms and sleep so peacefully.
Too Peacefully in fact.
The alarm goes off at 7:30 a.m. and I am the only one in the bed. I sit straight up and scan the room for Big Red, he is no where to be seen. I get up and check the bathroom only to find Big Red isn't in there either. Where is he? I open the bedroom door and see him sitting on the couch watching TV. I ask what in the world he is doing up so early and he says he wanted to see him Mom off to work.
"WHAT!?!?!?!, I ask. Feeling the shock run through my veins. "What do you mean, see your mom off?" Then it hits me, of course, it is Monday morning, of course his mom would have to go to work... of course she was up and left early... I felt like an idiot. I hadn't even said goodnight to her the night before and now I had missed saying goodbye. Big Red and I were leaving shortly to head to Mandeville and I wasn't going to see his mom again. I wanted to thank her for everything, I wanted to tell her how happy I was to meet her and how I enjoyed being a guest her home. How much I liked breadfruit and I owed it to her...
I turn my shock and amazement on Big Red. "Why didn't you wake me up? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70361-embarassed.gif[/img] I wanted to say goodbye to your Mother... how could you let me sleep? I didn't even realize it was a work day today and now she is off to work..." Big Red tells me to relax, that we can call his mother and say goodbye over the phone. I say ok we will have to do that but I can't help feel disappointed. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70361-embarassed.gif[/img] I know Big Red let me sleep cause I hadn't been feeling well, and I sure his Mrs. Red said just let her sleep... but I really wanted to say goodbye properly.
A few hours later we have eaten and showered and said goodbye to his sister. We load up the car and once again get out on the road. It is only an hour and half to Mandeville and I am grateful. My butt was getting tired of sitting in the car.
Again, I have so many pictures of the car ride but...
Monday afternoon
We arrive at Roots house by 1 in the afternoon and we have that big, beautiful, quiet house all to ourselves. We take many pictures and enjoy the cool weather and our peaceful surroundings. It was our last full day in Jamaica and there was no other place I'd rather be.

Oh Boundie, what a wonderful story! I have had a really yucchy day, and you have just made me smile and forgt all about it. How wonderful for you. Your love for each other just shines through your words! And as for how you look sick, I should look that good on my best day! You are stunning! Come back and finish.

Hurry back, B.B. ! This wonderful report is almost making me forget that it's -10 degrees outside today, and not going to get any warmer!
You had the cold that I landed with last year, and it felt like someone poured cement in my sinuses. Put a slight damper on things.
The real reason for my post....you HAVE to be an irish girl! You look just like my little sis-in-law. And she is irish, 100% ! Pretty, even when sick!

I just went to the store to pick up my pics on the way home, and they were locking the door and turning off the open sign as I pulled into the parking lot.
I went to the door and knocked on it and the guy behind the counter looked at me and said "WE'RE CLOSED! WE CLOSED AT 7"
I yelled through the glass, "Please!!! I need my pictures..." He just smiled back at me and stated again "We're closed." I tried lying [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img] and said that I needed the pictures for work tomorrow (sounds better than "I need the pictures for a bunch of people on an internet site who are reading my trip report...) but he wouldn't budge.
They open at 6 a.m. tomorrow and I plan to be the first one there.
