CEW I have a question for you. If a christian woman takes it up on herself to take you on a first date which invloves candle light dinner for two at a prestigious resturant and then to somewhere else where you spend hours talking to each other, what would you think of it? If it were me and I did not think the place was appropriate for a date i.e bar or club, then I would tell him no and block his number. At least you're nice enough to suggest somewhere else.

As a Christian male, the candle light dinner would definitely not be taking place on the first date. I do not think an intimate setting is appropriate under the circumstances. Call it a matter of personal ethics [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Incidentally, even if she had it all planned ahead of time and then offered the invitation, I would want to know where we were going before I accepted. That way I can decline or make an alternate suggestion if it is not somewhere I am comfortable with.

CEW..as a Christian man, what would a typical first date consist of for you? Tell us some of your do's and dont's, if you would.

A tough one because in some things, I am very unconventional. To a large degree it depends on how long I have known her and the weather. If it was for a while, and the weather is good, we dress semi-casual, have a nice dinner and then go for a stroll or to one of my favorite spots in the city to talk. If the weather is bad, we would go somewhere not too intimidating, or one that creates a situation of expectancy (some women do get very sentimental/mushy about things like that), again for a nice dinner, and later find somewhere to chill.

As for do's and dont's, the big thing would be that she not try to turn the time out into a romantic adventure, that she dresses tastefully, be herself, turn off her cell phone if she has one (unless she has kids), and not eat chicken wings with a knife and a fork [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] .

No, I don't and I wouldn't.

2.At what stage in the new relationship do you
visit each others home for the first time?

If she lives alone, I am not going there alone. If she has kids, I am not going there alone unless the relationship is solidified. A home is a very personal space, at least mine is, so until I am sure where we are at, and there isn't a situation for gossiping, home visits are not an option.

3.Do you have the neck to knee off limits policy?

I do not have a policy in that I would expect us to know how to behave. I'm not going to cop a feel however to 'test' anything [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

4.Do you take her to your church?

Only if it was something that was very serious. The last thing I need is to find myself bringing more than one female because I did it too soon and things fell apart for whatever reason.

5.If you don't have kids, do you date women who do?

[MG2S: I like to say not to let your good be evil spoken of. I learned that one also applies to Christians amongst each other. Growing up, it was nothing for single male church members to visit the homes of single female members for dinner. No hanky panky. The men didn't cook so the sisters offered them dinners. Nobody thought a thing. In my church, I often took the Pastor in the study for counselling/advice concerning my marriage. My then-husband admonished me and I brushed it off as his usual stupid jealousness. THEN, the Pastor's wife started taking my husband to the side for long conversations. I brushed it off as "these jealous Ja. people". (No offense) Until an American Minister burst into the study one day to catch us off guard, only to find us talking across the desk. I am known to be bold and not care what people think in them head top. BUT, wisdom came in. So long story short (too late, eh?), I do not invite men into my home if nothing but for the sake of nosey neighbors. I think after a relationship has been established, then we can visit house to house. Whew!]
