What were the things that you loved about living in Jamaica? the country side, the food, the simplicity...the fact that people are and can be happy there with just the bare necessities and a few good friends...

what are some of the thing you do that bring you geat peace.. or feeling of happiness?? hanging out with my son, spending REAL time with him...ya know the type where we are both doing something new and growing from it. He appreciates natures beauty more than the average 8 year old so those mornings when there is a beautiful sunset or evenings with an awsome sunset and we can look at it together and TALK about it...those are the times that give me peace. Aside from him...I would say cooking, I love to create and spend hours in the Kitchen chopin and cutting...great stress releaver.

what are some of your fantasy dreams for the future? to be financially secure and be able to travel and see the world. To find my "spot" in Jamaica and build a nice little house to retire in

whats your favorite food? Love all food that is Jamaican...
music? Reggae, hip hop, jazz and R&B

do you talk to many people from the board off line or on IM?? Yeah, quite a few actually...I would say that I communicate regularly with about 5 or 6 people and semi-regularly with even more than that

I would probably say the same things I do now. Actually thats probably how I got the job, I used to pop in every now and then and give advice and Marcia must have noticed cause next thing you know she was PMing me asking me to assist Chickie. I am pretty diplomatic in all my lives dealings so I doubt I would change my approach is I wasnt a moderator.

BUT...feel free to pop in every now and then. To tell you the truth...we havent had anyone come with that type of post in a long time.

14 - Did Kyle have a lot of bruising when he was born? If yes, how long before it went away? it wasnt as dark as I have seen other mixed babies have...but yeah he had some, I remember when my mom came to visit...and the look on her face when she saw it...I had to talk fast and explain to her he was born with it and it will fade...that it wasnt trauma related...Poor woman almost had a panic attack right there...It was gone by the time he was about 4 or 5 months I think

15 - Do you believe in duppy? Yup...my mom has one in her house...

Ahhhh Tams...a girl after my own heart...or should I say stomach. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Gosh, one favorite... [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] thats gonna be tough. So for breakfast I Love Salt Mackerel with boiled dumplings and boiled banana. Dinner would probably have to be Oxtail w/ Butter beans and white rice. But trust me...hand me any plate cooked by Kyles jamaican great grandmother and it will come back clean! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Yes, there was major culture shock when I first got there and new it was permanent...I had spent three months there prior...but all of a sudden I felt like a fish out of water...but it didnt last long and when I came back here 7 years later...culture shock all over again...That however hasnt quite worn off.

Gosh, I guess the worst (and it wasnt all that bad) was when one newbie came on the board saying he wanted to move to JA and asked some stupid question that indicated to me that he really didnt know what he was getting into...so I gave my best "diplomatic" answer...and he sent me a nasty PM asking why I was so negative and that I should mind my own business... [img]/forums/images/graemlins/704555_dwl.gif[/img] Then he proceded to tell me "Heck your probably not even black" [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] ...not sure what that had to do with it....but I PM'd him back...and after a few PM's back and forth he came around and admitted that I could actually help him if he would let me...

5. If money was no object, what is one thing that you would like to do in this lifetime? help suffering children, eliminate their hunger and struggles...give each of them an opportunity for a good life

6. Do you believe in God? Thats a tough one...I dont think I believe in a Christian version of God. I think that there is a God like force that lives within each of us. It is up to each of us to find that force and trust it and have faith in it and let it guide us. Sadly, I think there is also an internal Satan that can overpower...too many people in this world are not finding the right path and need to look within to determine why.

9. Other than your son, did someone tell you that he/she loves you today? Yes, actually three people...it was a good day . I talked to my mom and she always says it...I got an email from my sons godmother in Florida and she typed it..and I spoke to my "special Friend" and he always says it...he had me put Kyle on the phone and told him he loved him too

10. If I invited you to Canada, what would you want to do and see? I would want to meet other board members in the area

11. Have you ever been to Canada? Yup...Vancouver is only a few hours from me and I have good friends there so go up once a year...also one of my very best friends lives in Montreal so have been to see her

12. Do you read the bible? not regularly...but it do have one next to my bed and every once in a while I will pick up before I go to sleep and just let it fall open and read whats there...sometimes it has a message that fits how I was feeling that day...sometimes not...

Most definately...its that way with all lifes emotions and interactions...you have to give in order to receive, if you give hate and strife...thats what you will get back...if you give love and understanding...you will get that back in return. 15. How are you feeling today? Mentally and Physically? Great...a little tired...it was a tough week work-wise, looking forward to relaxing this weekend. Physically, my chest feels a bit congested...had a cold a few weeks ago and I hope that means its not coming back...When I go to the gym I will sit in the steam room to try to loosen it up.

Gosh...I would have to say my son...cause I sure couldnt bear to live without him...And he still has so much living to do...

8. What’s your favorite non-Jamaican meal? Cant say I have ONE...but if I had to choose I would say Seafood of some kind. I love BarBQued Salmon or Halibut.

Yes, I have been to St. Croix, I worked on an Earth Watch Enviromental study of the Leather Back Sea Turtles for 2 weeks.

Heck...Ive been back here for 6 1/2 years...your more current than I am. Of course I do go back and visit still....but no...beleive me your feedback is very informative even if it not what people want to hear.

Oh its nothing real exciting...its an old friend who I have know since Jr. High School...we ran into each other at our 20 year reunion and found that we were neighbors...lived less that a block apart. So we started hanging out...he is great with Kyle and tries to be a male figure in his life. He helps coach Kyles basketball team and takes us camping...ya know, that kind of stuff. Over the past few months...things have progressed a little in a new direction...And thats about it. He is very special...and I do love him, but I also know him very VERY well and know that we make better friends. I think that if we tried to live together or progress to that form of a relationship...we would ruin what we currently have. So for now we just take it for what it is...a very special friendship. See nothing very exciting.
